No need to thank me.

I don't drink, just one beer.
I get impassioned by music, and whenever I get back from rehearsals I can take on the world.
And now I'm at work, but my head is still in a freezing room in Southend with my boys.
Some pearls of wisdom there, however, luck plays a HUGE factor in whether a good singer gets in a band, becomes famous etc. A person may have the best voice in the world, but perhaps doesnt want to show it off and let others hear.
I used to play the piano, y'know. Well, what I mean is, I can play chopsticks. Norralorra people know my hidden talent either! However, I have always wanted to be able to play the guitar, not just a few chords but I mean properly - think Slash & Eddie Van Halen. I just think some people arent born to be musical, me being one of them, so I'll stick to singing in the car! Maybe I might appear in the next Pop Idol. (I think not)
Oh hell yes.
Tonight we had our sound engineer down to rehearsals to tape some stuff in preperation for next month, and we were done in 2hrs.
So we spent the last 3hrs doing other songs, for fun with some beers and smokes kicking around.
And this thread today meant I took the mic for 2 songs and gave it some "Well I just into town about an hour ago...took a look around, see which way the wind blow", and then after much persuasion managed to get them to run through 5-1.
And after about 10 fags in 30 mins, I managed to get the growly tone right and blew my throat with "Gonna make it baby in our prime..get together one more time..COME ON!" at which point I coughed like a donkey and collapsed on the floor in a ball.
ROCK AND ROLL
This is, without question, the single best "job" in the world.
I mean what other job means you get to drink a couple of beers and sing Doors songs all evening?
I'll tell you, none.
Music lifts the soul and blows away the tedium from life.
Come on people, learn an instrument or sing.
Doesn't matter if you think you can't, get your favourite song on the walkman and just sing it with as much heart and passion as you can do.
Please, don't let your time slip by without experiencing that moment when you forget about bills, money, work..all that and just bloody go for it.
How ever bad your voice is, you all want to sing.
Don't tell me you've been in the car and you haven't been singing and someone sees you and you get embarassed?
Blow that, carry right on at the top of your voice and wave.
Trust me, the rest of that day will pass in a happy smile.
Mine does every single day, that's why I'm such a moron on these forums, because life is there to be enjoyed.
Not worried over and fretting about what someone may think, you only get one run through it, so make it count.
> please stop posting messages in this becuase i frankly want to see this topic
> die a slow and painfull death
shut up
But now I must away to glamorous South End for rehearsals.
You kids have fun and I'll be here again about 1am.
"When the music's over yeah....turn out the lights...turn out the lights..."
On a Doors/Led Zeppelin mix I did for our guitarist, I had:
People are Strange
5-1
Unknown Soldier
Hyacinth House
Roadhouse Blues
Crawling King Snake
When the Music's Over
The End
Riders on The Storm
Whole Lotta Love
Heartbreaker
Moby Dick
Immigrant Song
Black Dog
---
I was raised on The Doors, Led Zeppelin and the like so I have a leaning towards 70s rock.
But the good stuff, not Alice Cooper or Free.
