For one week... and only just. Only just or not it is still a dramatic rise for the X-box considering it barley managed to sell 2,000 consoles a month. The Gamecube sales didn't move a jot so any X-box fan boys thinking this spells the end for Nintendo is surly mistaken... moving to third doesn't mean Nintendo have dipped in sales it just means the competitors rose.

Nevertheless it was all thanks to the release of the Japanese drawing Dead or Alive Xtreme Volleyball. Don't expect this to last, major games releases do this alot, the pre-order scheme for The Legend of Zelda on the Gamecube meant Nintendo were mere touching distance from the PS2... an even more dramatic feat than the one Microsoft have acchieved. Nintendo and Capcom plan to release smash hit titles Product Number 03, Viewtiful joe, F zero GC and Metroid Prime in the next few months in Japan so we may see another dramatic Gamecube lunge.

Jeebus what an unpredicatable market Japan is... one smash hit title can change the course of the console lead.

Dringo.

Alright sunshine, don't get touchy.

Yes, actually. Every time Japan sales were announced last year - the X-Box was about 1,500 - 2,500. 'Tis true.

I still think theres something very suspect about the PS2 sales. There must be households that have a PS2 for every person living under the roof if you go by the sales that are apparently being achieved every week.

*chucks petrol bomb into the proverbial arugment melting pot*

People keep having to buy new PS2's to replace the faulty ones that die on them *laughs madly and runs off*

PS2 seemingly manages around 50,000 a week.

You would have thought most people would have got one!

GC should storm the next few months.

No?

Well I'll give you a source. Go to www.media-create.com and have a look there. The Xbox sells, on average, 4,000 units a week. Although this last week, it was 3,000.
