I use Linux now. I refuse to waste any space on emulating Microsoft software that I never liked anyway. It was dodgy on Windows, it's *really* bad on Linux. Gaz will remember that last time i used it it actually forced me to reboot. ANYTHING that forced a Linux system to reboot is a Very Bad Thing. Therefore, Turbonutter on MSN is an extinct species.

I am still reachable though:

Download mIRC from mIRC.com or xchat from xchat.org, and:

Server: atlanta.infinity-irc.org
Channel: #leiden

Find me there, no where else. OK?

So, I need a game right.

An online game. That people play. That runs well on a 56kb modem. It also has to run quite well on a 300mhz 64 ram and 16 graphics. Any idea's? I was playing R6 until they alll got patches and now the damn thing won't patch up.

Any idea's?

Cygwin is a Unix compatibility layer under windows.. it won't help you run windows programs under Unix.

If you want to try running native win32 .exe files under linux there's an excellent suite known as WINE which tries to acheive this.. winehq.com if you care.

On the other hand, simply to use MSN Messenger under Unix, there are several other options, including Gabber (which uses the Jabber XML protocol to communicate with an MSN "proxy" server, and several clients that natively communicate with the MSN servers, such as everybuddy, which is the one Rob tried, if I remember correctly.. as well as a plugin to GAIM.

At least we can thank Microsoft for making a Messenger spec available. As far as IMs go, it's not that bad, certainly nicer than ICQ imho..
