The big Norwegian striker that is John Carew, or 'Alieu' as he likes to have on his shirt, has recently become unsettled at Valencia and may want a move elsewhere. Fulham have shown an interest and want him on-loan for the season, with a view to a permanent deal. Just like Anelka at Liverpool. He'd be a fantastic signing for any Premiership club, and i'm very surprised to see that no ther club has shown the slightest interest in him!! But which Premiership club would be right for him???

Man United - After the sale of Andy Cole United only have 3 experienced strikers who can help them with their bids for silverware this season. Yorke may also be leaving soon, which could mean United have to rely on the potential of in-experienced youngsters like Danny Webber or Daniel Nardiello. Carew would be an ideal signing for United, and i'm sure he's be a brilliant partner for van Nistelrooy. Solskjaer and Johnsen are 2 Norwegian internationals already at the club, and they'd help him settle in. And for possibly less than £10m, or just on-loan for the rest of the season, Alieu would be a bargain!! It would also show Fergie hasn't been making mistakes in the transfer market ALL season!

Chelsea - They already have one top striker in Hasselbaink, but what harm can having another do?? They've both also played in Spain and become known for their goal-scoring form. The last Norwegian Chelsea had was Tore-Andre Flo. He was a fine goalscorer, but was sold to Rangers for £12m and first team football. Having another Norwegian up-front could bringeven more goals to Chelsea's attack and help their challenge for the Premiership, even if it is just a season-long-loan. So Carew would fit in well at Chelsea. But his arrival may un-settle the on-form Zola and Gudjonson.

Leeds - Carew could have been the ideal partner or replacement for Viduka, but Leeds have already signed Robbie Fower for £11m, and he's doing just fine! Leeds were linked with Carew a lot last season as specualtion grew that Viduka would be off to Italy. But he stayed and therefore nothing else happened. Even on-loan Carew wouldn't be able to add a lot more to the Leeds attack, unless they were without Viduka or Fowler. If it wasn't Fowler than it should have been Carew!

Arsenal - Arsenal's search for a new no.9 was ended over the summer when they snapped up Everton's Francis Jeffers for under £10m. Everton were desperate to sell (to help their finacial struggle) and Arsenal were keen not to miss out. But since signing the England U-21 international he has failed to impress. He's barely featuredin the Arsenal side this season, mainly due to injury, but when playing he hasn't shown the goal scoring form of his Everton days. I think Carew would have been the better buy but Wenger wasn't interested. He may not have settled in well though, due to the lack of fellow Norwegians, and mass number of Frenchmen at the club.

Liverpool - Nicolas Anelka has been secured as an on-loan signing for the rest of this season, and could sign permanently in the summer. But after losing Robbie Fowler, if they don't sign Anelka then I think that Carew should be considered. Milan Baros may be highly rated but he's too in-experienced at the highest levels. Carew is strong, experienced at many levels, and can score goals at will! And with players he knows such as John Aarne Riise, he could settle in quite well. And by playing with a variety a top proffesionals week-in week-out, it could only help his progress!

Spurs - With a squad of aging strikers on top form at the moment, Glenn Hoddle must know that they can't last forever. Who will then have when Ferdinand and Sheringham finally retire/leave?? Rebrov is still waiting in the reserves but he can only wait so long, and so can Carew. If Hoddle doesn't move soon then Carew could be gone! And Spurs will have missed out on a perfect replacement goal-scorer for either Les Ferdinand or Teddy Sheringham. But a move to White Hart Lane seems out of the question for John Carew, as he can only wait so long untill the time is right.

Fulham - They are the latest Premiership club to have shown ANY interest in the big Norseman. They are apparently close to signing him on-loan, but with 2 top strikers in Louis Saha and Steve Marlet, would Alieu feel un-settled once again?? Or would he have the reverse effect, and casue the shock sale of either the club's high-profiled top scorer from last-season, or Fulham's all-time record signing?? But if he did move to Fulham in any shape or form, it would mean great things for 'the cottagers'. With an improving side, and his goal-scoring habits, their chances of silverware would be much greater! The only problem would be whether he'd disrupt their first-choice XI?

So in the way that I see it, John Carew's best choice would be to move to Old Trafford. And what are the chances that he'd turn down the move, if it became offered to him?? As United's new no.9, the glory days would remain! At least untill the end of this season, being Sir Alex Ferguson's last in control (possibly not!).

I agree with you - Arsénal will never be taken as seriously as they'd like to be, untill they start performing as well as that "Champions" should.
Even Newcastle have done better this season, and they haven't won sod-all in years!

A fantastic game for Carew, though - and once again it was against Arsenal!

We should sign him, just so he can do it to them in the Premiership and FA Cup, aswell! :D

Face it everyone, Arsenal will never be taken seriously until they can compete in Europe. Their league and cup form might be good but for a team whose manager once said, "Bring on Brazil," I find that to be one of the most hilarious comments EVER said.

Arsenal just can't play Champions League football. Anyone who disagrees is wrong - just check out the stats to prove it.

So you're saying only prolific strikers should be allowed to score against Arsenal?

What, like Wayne Rooney?

Carew is a muppet.

If he's not a prolific goalscorer, then why'd he have to go and score against Arsenal in the Champions League?

I support Arsenal, and he's now the focus of my hatred.
He just had to wait for Arsenal to score 2 crucial goals, didn't he?

I remember seeing an Arsenal player doing that same-thing a year or two ago also...! :D
Can't remember who it was though....?

I'm surprised to see Carew's actually playing for Valencia now though, they must be badly short-handed in the attack for him to be featuring - in Europe too!!

He's not gunna get any better in my view unless he leaves the Valencia B team for a regular-place in another team - perhaps in the Premiership with someone like West Ham, or Charlton??

What I was surprised to see is that he was playing - FULL STOP!

I never had expected to see him at all after everything that went on and didn't happen with him last season.

I still rate him as a player, but I don't think the style of La Liga is right for him. Can you name me another well-known Norwegian international who is playing well in Spain's top-flight?? No.

Coming to the Premiership like he was set to do, or maybe even the Scottish Premiership - like Flo did... thos are the places he should be, where he can use his physical strenght more and not have to worry so-much about having little Spanish midgits running through his legs and flicking the ball over his head.

That first goal in the Valencia game was fantastic though.
I can see why you changed your name, Ortega. :D

Carew is naff, he is just lanky and fast and presumed to be good at heading and all other aspects of being a striker for them reasons.
