Recently, I've been listening to a lot of music. The thing is though, I used to be all drumb and base 21 seconds, Gotta get through this and all that stuff but now i'm Beating me down, tainted love and girl at the rock show and I can slowly see my self turning into what i've always hated and rediculed. Thats right, a GOTH. I used to go down the park with my mates and throw eggs at them from in a hedge or my latest mission, pop a cap in their legs with my trusty paintball gun which fires at 300fps. I just love System of a down though, they're so good and the drummer is amazing in comparison to other bands.
What shall I do?

okay, so some of them may do that, but then some of those people who go around wearing the sports gear rubbish, (nike trousers, latest sports trainers, blah de blah) go around getting drunk, starting fights, etc. and vandalising public property. It is by no means confined to those who choose to wear gothic clothing. And slitting wrists? You are basing that on seeing one kid who is a 'goth' who finds it fun to pick at his arm with a compass? Look, as easy as it is to build up stereotypes of people based on their looks, these simply aren't true. Just because someone wears gothic clothing it does not mean they are into cutting themselves, etc. and those who are kicking in doors, etc. maybe they are, but this is by no means confined to 'goths'. More often than not 'goths' get ridiculed simply for dressing how they do. Did you ever stop to think that people making fun of the way they dress may have been what drove them to cutting themselves, or being bitter towards other, so called 'normal' people?

Again, I wonder what response you expect when you tell people you have ridiculed and actively tried to hurt these people, but now find yourself drawn to becoming 'one of them'.

O.k Sibs, maybe i didn't make myself clear, they are scary, strange beings that wear makeup and and slit their wrists for fun, one of them sits near me at the place of learning I go to. I sit there as he picks at his arm with a compass and when I ask him what he's doing he says this is fun, god only knows what fowel germs are on the end of that compass point. And did I say anything about people wearing black hoodies.... No. I mean the proper scary people who wear makeup and hurl bacardi breezers at you when you walk past them alone at night through the park may not agree with me but this is personal. Also, i've see them kicking in doors of the local childrens play group. What kind of civilised people are these. I've said it before and I'll say it once more, this is personal.

sheesh, how closed minded are you? You think that because people wear certain things you instantly know what they are like? You think that everyone who wears a black hoodie has honestly got black wallpaper, no clothes apart from black clothes, and self mutilates themselves?

Can't you actually see by the fact that you said yourself you seem to be turning into a goth, that not everyone who wears black hoodies etc. is the stereotype you just described?

I could go and nitpick, and give you a 'proper' description of a goth, but I can't really be bothered. Suffice to say that just because people wear some black items of clothing doesn't make them goths. And can I just ask you why you are so worried about this? What is it, afraid that people might take the p**s out of you for what you wear? Just like you have done to others (and from your initial post, seemed to think it was pretty cool and something to be proud of)?

Oh, and why the hell are you calling me a freak? You know nothing about me. You ask peoples advice on what you should do about a situation that is your own fault. You seem scared that you listening to this type of music is going to somehow turn you into a goth (and from some of the bands named, I don't think you have much perception of what gothic music actually is, but nevermind) and that because of this people may make fun of you. You said yourself you have done it to others before, why should I have any sympathy what so ever for you? I mean, we all make fun of people, jokingly (and hopefully, those concerned know we are only joking) but throwing eggs and shooting paintballs at people for no apparant reason apart from what they wear / what they listen to is just pointless and stupid. What does it acheive? Do you feel good that you have done someone harm for being an individual and not just following a crowd? I don't see why I or anyone else should have any sympathy what so ever for your so called 'problem' so deal with it yourself, and hope no one as idiotic as you starts abusing you for what you wear or listen to.

seriously, are you stupid enough to ridicule people just because of what they wear? And now you want, what? Our sympathy because you are turning into one of these 'evil beings'? Maybe you are only doing it now because it has become trendy, maybe you are just afraid of being your own person, and now that so many others are wearing the black hoodies, and calling themselves 'goths' you are so insecure you feel you must belong to that group, or you might not be popular anymore. Maybe you'll learn something from it, maybe you'll get some sense, but as for what you should do? Oh no. Poor you. What a predicament.

Get over it.
