"PS2 = Poo - PS2 + to be X-BOX owners input in here"

I live in a PS2 area. One person down the road owns one and two of my friends own them. One of whom waited a entire year for the PS2 and when the release date came for the X-BOX the sensible thing would have been to wait for the better console. No such luck.
Any way. He is a arogant as the nxt PSONE or PS2 owner but I would like to know what makes the PS2 owner so stupid and makes him buy it.

Looking at the thread title for a while it is a bit balls isn't it. But you cannot say that the PS2 graphics come close to beating the XBOX's

I don't base how good the console is on its specs but with out them, the potential the console has is not there. Take Munch's oddysee for example. Could the PS2 handle 48 or more multi polygon chracters on screen at the same time all blinking breathing and living with the suroundings and light just reacting to the presence.... i think not (If you don't belive me check out XBM mag issue 2). Another exelent example of the Xbox's raw power and extreme potential is Halo. Could either the PS2 or the GC handle the size or complexity. See what I mean. I could go on all night wich really isn't somthing that is needed. Don't get me wrong, PS2 and GC are good, just not AS good. Specs DO make a console. With out them you don't have great games. GC and PS2 DO have good games, a few very good games but none are ground breaking.

i have a ps2 and i think its great, i am also going to get the x-box if i can raise the cash....

the x-box games and graphix look just as good as the ps2's, i think both consols will be amazing and its going to b hard to say which is better. its all a matter of opinion.

X box isn't as good as the PS2 it might have good games but not as good quality or graphics

Stick-X, if you base how good consoles are on the basis of their games, I really, really pity you.

I'll tell you what... go to the Future of gaming(prime) chatforum, and start a topic about whether specs matter more than the quality of games, and see the response!

Before you have a go I have an X-Box on pre-order and cant wait for it to come out, but I also own a PS2. Hopefully going to get a GC in the summer so no one can call me biased :-).

Errr... kAy?.... Specs DO matter. Because of lack of spec games lack length and graphics suffer. Loading times are also really poo and slow. Because of the Xbox Project ego, Hole and Munches Oddasy are possible. Neith the PS2 or GC can handle either. Why... not good enough specs!
