Iam on that boss. Done about 1 hr 15 mins. My friend has done 15 hours and hes on Hard on mission 20.
Jak And Daxter is a good game i've probably spent about 10 hours maybe a bit more or a bit less. I've got up to the level where you need to free the Sages. So maybe this level will take me an hour or so to complete, then the game is finished. But it is a great game while it lasts.
Jak & Daxter took me about 48 hours, which I thought was okay - but others have completed it in far less time. I did think it could have been longer, but then I had so much fun playing it that I didn't really care.
If you spend every waking hour playing a game, it's likely to seem to take far less time to complete; the 48 hours I spent on J&D were spread (because of work) from the Friday it was released until the following Thursday - longer than some people, but still less than a week's entertainment. But I enjoyed every minute of it, so I can't complain. I spent time exploring entire areas of the world. If you just charge straight through a game doing only what you have to, you can probably complete most games in the equivalent of a few days - there are few exceptions.
I know that at least one of the people who completed J&D quicker than me probably only did so because they asked me for help in a couple of areas because they weren't sure what to do or where to go; I'd only solved that part myself by exploring the level - had they done the same, it may have taken them longer than me!
With regard to Devil May Cry, it's already taken me much more than 3.5 hours because I've had trouble with a couple of the bosses - and I don't *think* I'm anywhere near the end yet (I'm up to the boss with the ram's head in the sewer). On another day I may have had better luck and gone through it quicker.
There are some parts of games that you either get through first time, or spend ages trying to do. The problem I had on Jak & Daxter was that I couldn't find a certain area (I think it was the Dark Cave) - the entrance is fairly hidden away (won't say where, in case I spoil it for anyone), and I spent 2 nights looking for it; it's just one of those things that you either find straight away, or spend ages looking for!
It's all little things like this that can determine how long a game takes to complete. And remember that us Western gamers are supposedly better at it than the Japanese who make the games like Devil May Cry... many games are made "harder" for the Western release! :-)
...anyone got any ideas what PS2 game i should return it for?
