What about the PS2? I was on the website, but found very few details about it, is that broadband only too? I heard rumours that was the case.
If so, the Gamecube is the only one you can play online with a modem, for all of those that don't live in broadband areas.
Shame there are no online games other than PSO scheduled for the GC then...

In theory - it could. However, it never really gets that busy. Well, not for me in a street full of OAPs.
And isn't coverage for the UK only at like 35% or something?

PS2/GC - i've got the feeling that modem support will be there. However, broadband will be the more accepted form.
Not that I care. Only the Xbox will have an impact because it has an excellent interface for online gaming.
XBox = Broadband only.
PS2 = Internationally, a 56k modem is or is going to be available. Broadband adaptor will will be available internationally and in the UK. Doesn't look like the 56k modem will be released or supported in the UK.
GC = PSO for the GC will work with a specific modem for that game (doesn't need broadband). But that will probably not work with any other games or other on line content. For full GC online, we will have to wait and see - personally I think that will be broadband only.
I think so.
Not sure about PS2. If GC got some games that did not need broadband, they could grab that market. And have a slice of broadband too. With Mario kart, F-Zero, and Gamecube Wars. Hopefully.
:)
