It's slowly been coming for a while now. I play my machines less and less. I don't make time for gaming like I used to anymore.

I don't know what happened to the spark. I used to play games to completion and then carry on to better my scores. Nowadays I'll finish a game to see the entire story, and then not bother going back to get all the collectibles, choosing instead to do something else outside the games life.

There just doesnt seem to be anything interesting out there anymore. Monkeyball and Pikmin got me for a while, but it's not like it was when Tricky came out. I diddn't even bother buying The Getaway or Mortal Kombat. I'm not tempted to trade the whole lot in yet but I doubt I would miss it if it was all stolen by the time I got home, and maybe not buy another.

Perhaps this is linked to a current boredom I have for life? I'm sick of doing the same old things every day, and I'm sick of everyone else being so poor that they can't do anything about it (you know what I mean there). But then I havent lost my enthusiasm for my other interests, like my car and my bikes.

Perhaps the gaming industry is too stale now. Endless sequels, no originality. It's all about the money rather than the games now. We're not even getting Space Channel 5 part 2 in this country because of poor sales of the last one, regardless of it's fanbase.

Perhaps I'm growing out of gaming, and would rather have the experiences in the real world rather than the virtual? Though sometimes the 'realness' of the real doesnt seem all that solid, and that the world around me is just another game, one that I've played before.

I don't know where I'm going with this, or wether it even has somewhere to go. I'll leave it there.

I'm not losing my interest, more noticing that my interests are shifting. I spend far more time on my PC than I do my GC.

I'm slowly feeling that way as well. I don't find time to play games yet, inexplicably, buy masses of retro games. And I don't even play them much. Apart from Mario Sunshine and a couple of others, there have been no games that make me sit up and play them through to the bitter end. Maybe I don't find the time to do anymore. Maybe I've realised life's not just about games or maybe I'm trying to experience other things with my life; getting out more, playing footy going on holiday, experiencing other cultures etc.

Is the end nigh? Not yet, but there will come a time when I sit down and ruminate deeply about whether i want to carry on gaming. But not yet...not just yet...

I haven't been playing as much as I used to either. I haven't completed Mario Sunshine, Pikmin, Timesplitters 2, Eternal Darkness, Jet Set Radio Future, The Getaway (stopped playing halfway through because it's crap), and loads more. I seem to play them for a bit and then just leave them, whereas a few years ago I would squeeze every last drop of gaming goodness out of my games.

Yeah, this is definately happening, I am out in the garage working on the bike and the cars a lot more in the time that I used to game.

Bought another car the other day, a Austin Mini 1250. The engine is already out, all the glass and trim is off and I'm working on the bodywork to have it ready for a respray I'm going to do myself once the wide arch kit arrives and is fitted. Probably go for cadburys purple.

That's a good colour to go for - my mate had a mini Cooper with a bodykit in the same colour. There's nothing better than driving a mini. Excellent vehicles.

Slaveunit > yeah I know what you mean mate, but I find every now and then a true Gem of a game will come out and force you to waste a couple of months of your free time.

I don't play games as much as I used to, I do have other hobbies I like losing myself in, but it's nice to come back to gaming when you are too tired to bother doing anything else and have an evening to kill.

I hope to one day be able to work on cars as you do, I have almost no experience, but I would imagine you get a lot of pride from creating something special.

Yeah, they are great cars, this'll be my third, though I'll still love my escort, which is my fourth.

I've seen a few purple minis on the roads and they look great but it's also been done before. I'm also considering that metallic copper you get on the new volvos but I'm not sure if it would work with the mini. Once it's ready to be sprayed (another couple of weeks) I'll have a play in photoshop.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
