Today is a special day in my life; today is my 3 month anniversary with my gorgeous girlfriend Amy. Now I took her out for dinner, and this dinner date wasn’t just a celebration of our anniversary, it is where I would tell my girlfriend about my other love… this is what happened….

We had finished our starter course when I told her; we were preparing to dig into to main course. I had remained quiet throughout the evening and this was when she asked me “what’s wrong?” I knew it wouldn’t be long before she asked and I had prepared my reply, “Nothing” is what I said. She’s a clever lass she knew I wasn’t telling the complete truth and asked, “Now go on tell me”. And so I did, looking down at my plate I said, “There’s someone else”. She dropped her fork; the fear of her reaction froze me to the point that I swore everyone was listening in around us… almost as if I had said Voldermort in a scene from Harry Potter.

She didn’t say anything, I hadn’t rehearsed past this point but I knew I had to give her more information. I said “I’ve sorta known her for a while… you see she keeps going away and I have to move on and then she comes back… she is going to come back soon.” Amy slowly coming out of the shock she just entered looked up from her plate and said: “Why have you never mentioned her before?” I was still nervous and said, “I didn’t want it to damage our relationship.” Amy didn’t know what to say from that so I began to tell her more about my one true love.

“It isn’t that I don’t love you” I begin to make sure she understands that I do, “But it’s just this other… she’s magical, she really is special, she takes me places I have never gone before!” This wasn’t helping; this is perfect here I am digging a bigger hole for myself. She is obviously saddened but attempting to sound strong when she asked, “Is she good looking?” Now this is where my large hole gets a wee bit bigger! “Is she good looking? Last time I saw her she was beautiful, such elegance and beauty, this time she’s changed her look, well the photo’s I’ve seen show that, she looks a bit cuter now but still gorgeous!”

How horrible am I? Firstly I tell her she’s magical and wonderful and incredible and then I tell her how gorgeous she is! Amy then asked me when she’s coming back, “she’ll only be around for about a month” I said before saying “But she’s coming back on May 3rd!” Amy got a gleam of hope in her eye, “Are you sure you’ll still like each other? When was the last time you saw her?” I sighed, knowing that I was about to disappoint her again. “I haven’t seen her since Christmas 2000 but she goes all the time, often longer than this and we are always together for ages and then she goes again.” Amy wasn’t sure how to take this, it was obviously hard on her, and she finally asked me the question I expected her to ask first, “What’s her name?” I looked at her and finally uttered her name “Zelda”. Amy tries to eat her food again but she couldn’t she said “unusual but nice name” before fumbling with her fork and then running from the restaurant in tears.

Everyone within the restaurant, staff, customers and even the fish were looking at me. I glanced around for a moment and then said: “What? It’s only a game.”

Heh I think you might be taking my post an ickle too literally... although I did warn her about my obsession for the game and that she won't be seeing me between May 3rd and my birthday (june 4th).

heh :D

As much as I love computer games, when I fell in love with her I already knew that nothing could be better.

I'm not picking my girlfriend over Zelda...

It's like that Sophie Elis Bextar (or something) song that goes: "Music gets the best of me... you just get the rest of me."

Replace Music with Zelda and you see what I'm getting at. Although I hate that song.

Heh, don't worry Dringo, Wind Waker is every bit as fantastic as you are expecting.

Although personally, I'd choose my girlfriend over a game anyday ;)

Ah yes, we could have some guy sitting at a table saying all these words like she's incredible etc... and then the girlfriend would run out and clips of the game would follow and then the caption "You'll never need anyone else!"

he he he.

That sounds like it would make a great TV ad for the game! :P
