Can anyone give me a rough estimate (assuming I can find one) of how much it would cost me to get hold of a DC and a few games?

Probably about £30 unboxed/boxed with additional controller, card and about 3+ good games, but it can vary a lot depending on the places you get it from and the games that come with it.
