Anyone Think That With All The Money That Microsft Have And Faith In The X-Box, Shouldnt They At Least Launch X-Box Live With Dial Up Supposrt As Well As Broadband?, Most Of The Uk Cant Even Get Broadband Yet!!!

I am getting Broadband before March 14th so I will be getting Xbox Live shortly after. If someone logs into a room playing with a 56K modem then everyone else in that room with a Broadband connection will have to put up with the slow connection. Microsoft have made the right decision making their online service Broadband only because it promotes fast gaming across an internet connection. If it isn't in your area then that is hard luck but for the majority who can will enjoy the service on offer. The UK market isn't as big as the US or Japanese market so when 80%of the US have access to Broadband why would Microsoft bother with a Dial up connection?!

Chances are, Sony won't support 56K in the UK.
And Gamecube will only have one online game at the launch for it's online adaptor.

I know which online service I'd prefer...

I'm in the same position. So if I ever want online gaming, 56K will have to do. If I owned an X-Box though, it'd have no online service at all.

Broadband is far superior.

But I can't get it, so XBox's main drive is useless to me.

Yes, but Sony and Nintendo will also be offering Broadband as well. What's better - two or one? Indeed.

I dont drink I dont smoke I rarely go out clubbing and if I do go out its to the cinema its because I have 3 passions, baseball, films and gaming of all sorts. I need broadband to watch baseball not grainy and gaming is great online. Mech Assault?

If you want 56k online gaming, get a PC. Roger Wilco seemed to work fine without too much lag while I used to play a few online games a while back.

And for those interested, Sony will be doing a mass demonstration of a 56k network, possibly with Nintendo, later this year, including a demo of why it doesn't work....USSOCOM has hardly received rave reviews, nor has the headset for the PS2...

Xbox live should NOT be compatbible with 56K. It's NOT suitable, would NOT work well, and will NEVER work with 56K.
