Yeah, that's one of the few faults with the game. When I realised that problem I started again (I was going to anyway - I wasn't very far on, don't worry) and never bought vortex. I'm currently on level four on hard mode and I still haven't got it.

Yep. I was fighting Nelo Angelo and I kept doing Vortex. I think its something that you will have to get use to. On THPS3 I started off by using the direction pad to do spins. I couldnt use the R1 or L1 buttons to spin, but now iam use to it. With DMC your so use to using R1 to use sword attacks that you always keep it down when fighting.

I've just had a look in the manual. I think the numbers are for how much info you have found out about them. The manual says that when you attack a enemy in a new way, new information is then added to the enemy, as you may find out a weakness or a strength. So the numbers must mean how much information you know about the enemy. I too thought it could be the amount of times you have won agaisnt an enemy. But the bosses had things like 5/7 by them, and I havent used a yellow orb as if I die I reload the game.

Oh by the way, does anyone else hate cetain moves like vortex when you go into Dev. Trigger? It really annoys when I want to do a sword slash from the air and it does vortex. Or if you press R1 to fire your gun and it does air raid. The last one you can avoid by not pressing R1, but for the first one I just ended up not buying vortex.

I dunno what the numbers are...at first I thought it was the page number or the amount of times you have been against that enemy and won or lost.

And the bosses that I said seem easier on the next are harder on the last time, I'm sure it's not me. >_<

There are 23 missions. And a load of secret missions. You also get to unlock new modes for completing the game. You have to complete the game 3 times to get all the modes.

A good move to buy is Air Raid. Purple orbs are good as they give you one extra Devil trigger letter.

Its probably due to your knowledge of how to beat them.

I have a question, with the enemy guide in the actually game. There is a number/number at the bottom for each enemy. For some its 8/8 and others like bosses its 5/9. I havent used a yellow orb or anything. I read the manual when I first got the game and cant remember seeing anything about this number, does anyone know what it is for ?
