Last night was the first time I’ve seen the Truman Show and something struck me about Jim Careys acting in the film.
Carey usually only plays one character in all of his films but in this film we all saw something different in him. He normally plays a crazy, out of control character in all of his films. No films have really tried to test out his skills because he normally stars in films like The Mask and Dumb and Dumber, which gives him a crazy image.
In the Truman Show Carey played a very believable character. Some the scenes he did were brilliant. At the end when he was trying to escape in the boat. It was some of the best acting I’ve ever seen. You could actually feel his pain.
Instead of playing a weird and wonderful he plays a casual character with a lot of dramatic scenes he has to play. This film does a lot of justice for Carey. At some times you could almost cry he was so good. This is 5* film with a 5* actor in it.

My brother bought me this film for my birthday last year, I watched it and fell in love with it. It's really a fantastic film. And yes, Carrey's acting in it struck me too, it's the first time I'd ever seen him play a serious role and he does it beautifully. The Truman Show rocks.
