I recieved my DVD region X from SR yesterday, inserted it into my PS2 and followed the instructions and that screen came up saying 'Please insert PS2 disc.... blah blah blah'

I've checked it and there isn't one scratch on it.

Am I missing something or is it just faulty?

Thankyou.

Right. Bad news I'm afraid. I've looked on the message board for their website at this URL:

http://www.codejunkies.com/bbs/NonCGI/ Forum28/HTML/001183.html

(dont forget to remove the space)

and someone else has a PS2 like yours (a new one) and has tried 3 region x's. Apparently sony have blocked the disk from working. The moderator says they are aware of the problem but not much else.

I think the only solution at the moment is to send it back to SR, and buy Action Replay 2 V2 (which it seems will work). I have AR2 v2. Its worth it if you want the cheat codes, but if you don't you are paying a tenner more for something you don't want.

Either wait or pay more money. :(

I've had a look at the upgrade codes, but this only works if the disc boots before hand, mine doesn't boot at all. That is why when it tells you to wait for the Playstation logo on a black screen on operation 4, mine justs completely skips that and goes to 'Please insert PS2 disc'

Yeah I only got my PS2 two weeks ago, but I got both the PS2 and DVD Region X from SR, anyway I'll go and try that code thing on their website.

Cheers

Go to the dvdregionx website, and it will tell you how to enter new codes. Should do the trick.

How new is your PS2? I've heard of people who have had this same problem. The answer was that if your PS2 version has an 'R' after it, you will need a newer version of region X they are releasing (not sure of the name).

I don't know if this is true, but its what I've heard. If your PS2 is new, its probably whats wrong, if its an old PS2 you probably have a faulty disk.

Try contacting SR.
