Yes, the man who brought us cult films such as "Pi" and "Requiem for a Dream" embarks on his next and most mainstream film to date. Entitled "Batman: Year One" it is not a prequel to the batman series but a complete restart. Allegedly Warner Brothers were so disillusioned at the miserable failures of the last few films they want to start from scratch.

Aronofsky will bring something very interesting to the Batman series. Firstly this will be a film where he has a big budget behind him, which should allow Aronofsky to do even more interesting things than he's already done. Expect a decent Warp Records-inspired soundtrack as well. Internet rumours suggest that Christian "American Psycho" Bale is up for the lead role but other details remain sketchy at best.

Put this one in the box marked "interesting". If anyone is capable of producing a blockbuster that isn't empty of ideas then it's Aronofsky.

Bring back Keaton as yet another sidekick. We have Robin and Batgirl. How about Rodent Boy?

" Bat's aren't rodents, Dr Chase."

SO? SOD OFF BRUCE!

No, I've given up giving a toss what you think.

And I care. I saw LotR again today, beats any Speilburg offering.

He might be a little old now, but with films like Batman and Batman Returns, Beetlejuice, and er..... I think he had a bit part in Jackie Brown....

*coughs*

yep. Great guy, we need him back as Batman's father or something. For old time's sakes. But I think Batman's parents were killed. So batman's foster father, or butler. Give the man a role I say.

The rumoursabout Bale are based on an internet survey of fans, who thought Bale would make the best Batman and then Bale making a public announcement that he would like to work with none other than Darren Aronofsky, director-to-be of Batman:Year One. He reminds of Val Kilmer for no reason in particular and Val Kilmer was a terrible Batman.

Bring back Michael Keaton!

Just waiting for me to walk in, weren't you? WEREN'T YOU?!?!?!?

:-D

You know, I'm still convinced that you've never even seen A.I Gaz.

And I'd like to point out (not that anyone cares right?) that Christian Bale annoys me. Never seen American Psycho (but then again, I never really want to so I'm told) but he was pretty annoying in Shaft. He played a good role, don't get me wrong, but it was his facial expressions. They reminded me of Michael McFarlen. Somebody who I used to know and REALLY hated!!!

Heh, I thought Forever was very entertaining. I still have it on VHS. But Batman and Robin was the worst film I've ever seen, except A.I.

Hell yes, it's time to buy meself some more DVDs.

I saw a Batman box set in HMV the other day... possibly might pick it up, even though I'd only want to watch three of them.

Bah, still a boxset. Damn my curse.

Ah yes, Mallrats, that most brilliant of Hollywood blockbusters. Pity it didn't have Britney Spears/Missy Elliott/Metallica belting out a them song that would go straight to Number 1 and have nothing to do with the film, then we'd be set.
