As Andy Cole ia moving from Man Utd, Man Utd only have three strikers. I think Man Utd should buy anther striker, a good partner for Nistelrooy, but who should they buy?

that's another plus of having Veron he can tell ferguson about all the untapped talent in the argie league and also might be able to tempt some of the superstars to sign for Man Utd ahead of other teams

Well i heard a rumour that Utd are after a South American, and will be finalising a deal in the coming weeks.

Names like Ortega and Batistuta have be passed around BUT i can tell you all now that the big bet is on Diego Forlan from Independiente in Argentina. He is an Uruguayan international and was leading scorer in the Argentinan Premier Division last season and friends with Veron who used to play for Independiente.

I think that the partnership between Giggs and van Nistelrooy is excellent. They have created goals and scored through each other. Look at the teamwork that they had when they played Fulham. I thnik that they should concentrate on their left mid since Giggs has adapted to to striker role. I suggest that they sign Riquelme from Boca juniors so that he can replace the hole in the left side caused by Giggs when he played striker.

I never said or even hinted that Kluivert would come cheap - I agree tho he'd be in the tens of millions too.... but anyway thats not the point really is it.

ManU need a spare striker, and a revamped defence

If you think Hasselbaink would cost a lot, then what about Kluivert!! He wouldn't come cheap! Especially from a club like Barcelona, and why would he leave the sun and heat for the rain and cold?? Except for better fottie of course!

Man utd dont neccesarilly need a new striker with the system they are currently playing. As they have the likes of Yorke and Solskjaer on the bench.

But if I had to chose a replacement for Andy Cole I would probably pick Henrik Larrson. Not much people would think of him they would go for Kluivert,Hasselbaink etc

Unfortunately though they would cost ridiclious amounts of money but Larrson would only cost about £7m.What a chance it would be for him to prove himself at the highest level!

He has not only goalscoring talent but is a good alround player who would be the perfect partner for V.Nistelroy!

I agree Ronaldo is FAR to injury prone. He's played far too many games in his short life and its has kinda screwed up his body somewhat.

Now Raul would be a wicked signing! Klivert would be even better, I can imagine him playing well alongside his dutch sidekick.

As for Hasselbaink, Man U would have to pay a stupid amount of cash to tear him away from Chelsea (second top scorers in the prem dont come cheap ... and let me remind you... He's been the top scorer at the end of the season in every league he's ever played in - how's that for class).

that's ok the Man Utd board hardly spend anything anyway they won't go into debt. it surprised they've spent this much. defenders i'll say nesta, igor tudor, samuel or as a surprise lucio from leverkusen i think it is.
strikers not ronaldo he's far too injury prone to much risk with him someone like kluivert, raul or crespo would do

Yeah, defender now striker later. Maybe they should go for Hasselbaink?? He plays with van Nistelrooy for Holland and they'd therefore go well together! But the only way he'll even consider leaving Chelsea is if they fail to win ANYTHING this season and miss-out completely on a European place. But that seems very un-likely now!

I would say go for Ronaldo, but money would be a huge problem. And there's the problem of who you'd negotiate a deal with. If you take notice of Serie A, you may have also noticed that almost every Italian club changes their manager several times in a season! And the same counts for some of the players, but they all stay in Serie A.

How much would Ronaldo cost?? With Zidane costing over £40m, Ronaldo would easily be £50m as an initial fee!! And his wage demands would be almost £100k a week, with around £50k as a goal/assist bonus! So in other words, it would simply be too much, even for the world's richest club! They have to stay sensible with money, and not destroy their wage structure! English clubs can't survive debts of £200m like the Italian and Spanish clubs!!

Now they have sold Cole, I think Man Utd will move quickly before the next Champions league Deadline to sign a quality defender.
