I wanted to buy a game yesterday, I was thinking of Racing Evoluzione, but it wasn't out, so I went into a highstreet game shop, and they had 2 games for £30 or one for 19.99. One of those was Phantom Crash, I looked for another to get, but couldn't see one I wanted, and there was only one copy of PC.

So I got it, and with student discount it was 17.99. Bargain!

Anyway, got it home and wanted to start playing, but in the quest mode it seems to take ages to get going! Got bored with the cutscenes and so skipped them. Bought myself a scoobee and went out!

Man, this game is so fast! I lasted about 1 minute in my first rumble, but I wanted to play another, and another and...

It's a great game, kind of a cross between GT3 and some Mech game. You can buy and upgrade parts of your scoobee or buy all the parts seperately to build yourself a completely custom one. There's only three arena's, which is a bit tight, but theyre pretty damn good. The graphics are pretty sweet as well.

I'm on day 26 now, I have a level 8 Ratt 2 chip and an Aeron based scoobee which I built myself. Rocket launchers on the arms, and some other big bloody cannon thing on the shoulders. I've called it Bob.

Anyway, I want to know how the Class and Ranker thing works? I'm not sure which fights I should be entering. I don't like to enter some of the expensive ones, as I get my bum kicked and die before I can make back the entry fee, maybe I just need some more practice?

Anyway, can soomeone give me some tips at all?

Also, is there any main difference between building a Holy, Photon or Aeron scoobee. Is one more powerful but slower etc? Only none of this is in the game booklet.

Cheers
:-)

Hehe.

Likewise, with all the slightly anti-Xbox posts I make. To be honest, I'd buy one, if sombody gave me a spare 10K (for all the things I want)

:D

Any takers.....?

Look out for drone matchs, all of the enemys are just small weak little drones that you can kill easily. Great for raking in cash.

Holy - Ventuno mech
Aeron - American Stars mech
Photon - Kojima mech

Just go by what I said about the company. ;-) If you're buying seperate parts, then remember that you can't mix different company parts. So you can't use a Holy body with a Photon weapon, etc. ;-)

As for the medals, well it looks like you're on your way now. ;-) As far as the dots go, just shoot all the sods, its all money. ;-) Red dots are the most important ones to destroy though - they tend to be the boss style characters. ;-)

Cheers for the advice Sav :-)

The only other question I have is that when I build a scoobee up myself, the parts come in three flavours: Holy, Aeron and Photon. What's the difference between a Holy scoobee and a Photon scoobee etc? Is one faster but with less armour etc?

Also, on the levels, should I concentrate on blowing up the yellow or green blokes? I also see some red and blue ones sometimes, who are they? I've got three medals so far, which I guess means I'm ranked D on three of the arena's?

Anyway, a top game, I can see myself playing this a LOT more over the next little while :-)

I only played the deme, which isn't much of a tester I admit, but it seemed just a tad repetivie and dull. But then again, there was no development and stuff. The combat was boring. But it was only a demo, so.

More people should take the advice of me and gamezfreak on this game - knew you'd enjoy it YH. ;-)

Anyway, you'll want to enter the free matches first which get your cash up. Keep to the D Rank matches first and make sure you fight these D Rank matches in the 3 different locations at both day and night. :-)
To complete them, you have to work out a way of staying in the fight - blow up as many scoobee's as you can and then eventually a boss type character will come out to play. ;-)
Make sure you speed around and grab ammunition and health restore powerups - as well as some nice cash ones. ;-)

When you beat the boss scoobee for that level, you can then exit out and you'll have a little medal thing for that area. :-)
Repeat this with the other Rank levels (C,B,A), of course these will cost you to enter so make sure you have some scoobees built up. :-)

The Ventuno mechs tend to be the all rounders, the Kojima mechs tend to be based more on movement and speed while the American Stars mechs are more based on power and defence.
I tend to stick with Ventuno. :-)

My Ventuno mech has a huge bloody cannon on its shoulder which wipes out just about anything. ;-) I also have a level 99 Beagle chip named Ben. ;-))
