Very probably. You can also get an SVGA lead + converter for the PS2, not that I've really seen the point.

All other consoles came with Aerial cables, but now most TV's even the small 14inch portable ones have at least 1 scart socket. Also you dont need to use the scart as it uses the 3 phono leads. So this gives people even more choice. I am glad Sony decide to move to supplying a better quality lead. I have got an RGB which is somuch better than the lead Sony give you. Maybe future consoles will have a full RGB cable.

They work on the basis that anyone who has a PS2 can generally afford a SCART TV, and that a RFU cable really doesn't do the PS2 justice. Yes, your old PSone cable will work, as will any cable you can buy for either PlayStation. The box does actually carry a warning about this, y'know. However, quality through the RFU cable is *really* poor. I used RGB SCART for ages with my PSone, until we moved and I lost the cable. When I next played on my PSone, it was GT2. The quality was that bad from using the RFU cable thatw as supplied it compelled me to spend 3 hours looking for my swanky RGB SCART cable.

Another thing:

The SCART cable that comes with the PS2 isn't really a SCART cable. It's a composite AV cable with a SCART adaptor. Although the quality is good it's not really fantastically clear. I highly recommend you pick up a SCART telly somewhere and an RGB SCART cable for yer PS2. It really will be worth the effort. I mean, you've spent £200 on this piece of kit, choking it with that RFU cable is a crime!

Unless your TV has a SCART socket or 2, as most do these days....
