I am seriously considering buying this minidisc. It looks the biz. And its quite cheap (£125) I was wanting to know if anyone has this Minidisc and if its any good? I was just wondering mainly if it displays the track name. Because if it don't then its like having a CD with no track names.

Go here for a picture if you are not sure what model you have... (Its Sony..)

Thanks for you help.

Merry Christmas

I got the Sony MZR-R900 for my birthday this year, it is cool, great sound quality, and the battery life is excellent. I even bought a mini-disc player for my car.

I'm building my mini-disc collection by recording CDs I already own.

I have the Sony MZ-R700, and I got it for x-mas. It's great!! You can give tracks a title, record from hi-fi's, portable players or apparently from your PC! And it cost about £150 I think. It really is amazing how you can fit so many tracks onto 1 disc! The equivalent of 4 CD albums!! The only problem is the time it takes to record them.

Mmm.
A MiniDisc car :o)

MP3 players rule. But, you can run out of memory. With MiniDisc players, you just put in another disk. Until you run out of money...Hmm. Nevermind :o)

I got a new MP3 player today, A Sony NW-3 thingy, was knocked down from £250 to £100 so I got a bargain. But, the headphones were broken......and no it was not taken from the back of a truck :-)

Talking of Minidisc, I got a few CD's today and a CD holder, a nice silver and pine one. Look for a place on the wall, get it all set up, put it on the wall, stick a CD in.......and it doesn't fit. Read the paper in the wrapping, said it was for minidisc.

Blame my Mother.

I brought my dad a can of beans for christmas clearly stating '9P' on the front. Then I gave him his other present........

Yes it does.

But, when you press play right? On the LCD display does it show the track title?

Like, I dunno, whatever you called it? Say, Britney. Or something. Does it show that? And what happens if the track is a bit long? Does it scroll?

Also, is that the best model to get for around £130? I want a recordable one with Long Play. But I need it to be in a high street shop not just a little internet shop thingy. Because im going down town to get one. So, a model number and a picture would be great.

And (Oh god not another question) are you on MSN?

Cheers :o) Answer those questions, make my Christmas :o)

i have this exact model (but mine is silver) and i find it's ok.

i got it about 9 months ago now but there is a model above which is sligtly better as it has a jog dial and a mic in.

i brought a car kit for mine and use it in the car almost all the time.

the only things i didn't like is the way you have to press to buttons to record because if your recording another track you sometime end up adding track markers also titling tracks was tedious as it's so fiddly.

anyway mine was insured so when 12months comes near i'm gunna say it got stolen and get a hi-fi unit as these are easier for recording.

hope that helps
