I also think they're aim is to work hard, do their best and get as far as possible. And if they don't then all the hype will die down and the FA may do something stupid, like Eriksson, or abandon the Wembley plans!!
As for the Welsh player in the England squas, who is he?? I heard Owen's half Welsh, is it him??
What are you guys thinking?!! Your all deluded.
Firstly let me just say I'm not English - so I am quite unbiased when it comes to English football and I don't let myself get eaten up by all this English hype that they can win the World cup... it laughable really.
You need to sit down and think reasonably. What are Englands aims for this world cup?.... Obviously the 'target' is to win it, but realistically that is just not going to happen. For starters No European team has EVER one outside of Europe. Nor is that likely to change - one of the reasons is because of climatic conditions... anyway... lets get to the point here.
England should plan to do as well as possible. And the best thing they should do, is to play as many 'inexperienced' players as possible? ... Why? .... for them to GAIN experience on the WORLD stage UNDER PRESSURE... so that they can learn faster and become BETTER players.
Just look at your England Squad for young players... Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Gerrard, Michael Owen, Alan Smith, Beckham (kinda) to name the big guns. Stick em in with some old guns Seaman, Keown, Cambell, Fowler etc and they'll learn loads.
Then by the European Championships comes around England will be highly likeley to wins something with a STILL young and Experienced squad... then... 2 years later.. you can seriously start thinking about winning the world cup.
And as for the 'If One player could be English' ... it would have to be RYAN GIGGS. England need a top left sided player and he's one of the best in the world. Besides the England squad already has one Welsh player in it, perhaps you can pinch another one? ~g~
Carlos would definitley be able to help the attcks down the left, especially if the left wing postion hasn't been sorted.
Such as shame he's not English! I don't think we'll EVER find an English Roberto Carlos. We all live in houses for starters!!
