Question:- should we goto war with iraq?

answer one :- YES

answer two :- No

Answer three :- where is the monkey? (whitehouse)

(please note i know there are shades of yessness and noness but if we go in that direction it will be boring)

Anyway. I say Yes

Id like to see reasons for no though. every day its more people whining on about how bad war with iraq qould be. Well in my opinion if war removed saddam then its pretty good.

So anti war people post reasons NOT to goto war.

And for once (this is adressed to various people. you know who you are) lets keep this thread on topic. this is vaguallr serious (except the bit involving the monkey)

I say bomb 'em, It's all Saddam seems to understand after not disarming after 12 years of resolutions, and 10 years of war before that. Less people will die in the war than they would if Saddam were allowed to carry on his regime.

I don't want war... For it will cost millions of lives, both soliders and civillians... But if it will get rid of Saddam Hussein, the dictator who has been killing his own people... Then, y'all might as well just go to war!! As long as Saddam Hussein doesn't kill and disturb world peace.

And if we are going to war, then I really hope its for the sake of peace, not oil!!

Always raises a little smile when someone says that. "Let’s get rid of Hussein... but not with war". During a decade of international sanctions he's manager to continue his violent dictatorship and a rampant scheme of ethnic cleansing - let’s wait a while longer and see how many more of his own people he can kill, maim, starve and/or throw out of their homes for having the audacity to disagree with him/his chosen religion. Oh, but a war might hurt a few kiddies. Yeah, because that's the first thing they'll be aiming for - orphanages and primary schools. Let’s not go to war and risk civilian injuries - Saddam seems perfectly capable of killing and injuring his own people without our help.

Let’s wait another ten years, see if he has a sudden change of hart. I mean he has blatantly disobeyed resolution 1441, a UN sanction that allows military action in the absence of full compliance. We’ll just check to make sure that what everyone really meant, you know, when they signed a document sanctioning military action if Saddam did exactly what he did. And if France vetoes our little check due to the ludicrous and totally uneven distribution of power in this laughing house, hell, Saddam won’t see this as an invitation to do exactly what he wants as the international community clearly isn’t bothered about letting a country that invades its neighbours amass weapons while committing terrible human rights violations.

NO - a foreign bast*rd making us beat up another foreign bast*rd aint good. Hussein and his reigime should be removed, yes, as the things he has done to the Kurds are horrific, but not through war. It also makes of us more of a target to terrorism.
