Yep. About a year and a half ago, I got Aliens Vs Predator 2 off SR (thank'ee kindly) and then, after playing around with it for about 3 months, lent it to a friend.

Today, over a year later, I got it back. Less said about that the better. But anyway, I hurried home and popped the little discys in the drive ma bob. And then I was back. Oh yes.

This game in my opinion, crushes all FPS because of its atmosphere. I was playing with cordless headphones on, meaning the sound was being passed around me all over the place, from a humans dying shrieks echoing down a corridor, to pipes rattling above me. The little movements, shudders, rumbles that resonate through the sound and visuals constantly give you a fear that hunts you. For instance, the good old motion sensor, had a blob on it. I cautiously moved forwards, only to discover it was a crane swinign in the breeze, but the fear was there, intently controlling my actions.

Playing as a Marine gives you fear, a Predator it gives you a stealthy, hunting game, that is quite sadisticly fun. As an alien you get to be the fearsome one. The development idea from larvae to drone is fantastic, and its all great fun, leaping off roofs and chowing on marines heads. Rarg!

So, in rediscovering an old classic, and seeing it in the Sr mag as a free gift. Get it. The graphics may be on the edge of outdated, but you cannot afford to miss such a fantastic piece of terror on a Cd (or 2). Ever. Get it, play it, fear it, and enjoy it. Brilliant game.

Transmitter plugged into back of PC. Transmits sounds at perfect quality to headphones. I can go out down the garden and still hear the music perfecetly.

Excellent stuff.
