"My PS2 is Stuffed (damn filter)"

I had just finished playing on my PS2 downstairs when my Dad came home. He told me to go upstairs so of course I obliged. When I was plugging it in it fell of my bed.

Consequently the damn thing wont read any of my games, so I'm stuck.

Any condolences are welcome and contributions and gifts (i.e a fre PS2 from SR?). This is not a con for anything but I just fell really annoyed (damn filter). I hope Currys have a warranty for launch machines otherwise I'm stuffed (damn filter).

If Currys say "NO" then don't give up!! There must be a way of making them cough-up (to help your PS2, not like a cat)!! You could write to a TV program or magazine article and get help. Or you could find some on-line site or something and get them to sort the damage done. But don't accept a NO from Currys. Good luck!

I know the feeling, both of my original PlayStation (not dualshock) pads broke, and you can't buy those kind anymore. I preferred the original ones so I was quite annoyed. Also, my friend who got an original PS2 on launch day is having major trouble reading the blue discs; it took us half an hour to get Half Life working. Official Uk PS2 say that the blue discs are normal DVD discs tinted blue, but in actual fact the blue discs are CD-Rom discs and the yellow-white discs are DVD-Roms.

Try phoning Sony on 08705 998877 - they may replace the machine anyway.

A friend of mine had a 2nd-hand PSone (i.e. out of warranty and not registered to him) which packed up, and when he phoned Sony they swapped it no questions asked.

Gotta be worth a go - Sony will want happy customers!

If you do sent a letter or something, make sure you give them some proof, or they'll just ignore you!

For God's sake don't spit at them and try and write your name in their faces.

What will I do with all those other games I got from my Mum and Dad? I'll eat em thats what; I'll teach those Sony dogs to make unreliable pieces of crap and sell them to me at launch for £300! Damned systems. I'll show em, I'll show em.......

Good luck in getting your system repaired. You could always ask your parents whether it's covered by household insurance... ;-)

You could try hitting it or shouting at it saying something like "Work machine work! ill give you money" or drop it again i know someone who's PS1 broke he dropped it and it started working again, Or phone sony get a new one then try and fix it by dropping or you could open it up and try then you've got 2 PS2's and you can sell the one that broke you could RULE THE WORLD!!!! GGGOOOOODDDDDBBBBYYYYEEE!!!!
