Other than that, the only argument I can give you against the GameCube is the same argument I can give you against the N64 -- the great games were astounding& but where was the third party support? Where were the games? After the first year, it seemed that all us N64 gamers did was wait for the next Rare or Nintendo title to come out, since there was nothing else to look forward to. In comparison to other console systems, the N64 was a failure, despite some incredibly high moments. Will the GameCube deliver the third party support that the N64 lacked? Hopefully. But at this point, I'm still worried.

Sonic
I think that Rogue leader counts as an AAA title (so long as it doesn't crash on level 3 - so much for all those "unreliable Xbox" jokes :-D), and although you don't look at Monkey Ball and Smash Brothers pics and thnk "Must have!!", the reviews say that they're the definative multiplayer games.

Ah, but compared to the xbox, there is a different story. The launch of the GC doesn't have any AAA titles looking at US GC reviews. The Xbox does, but it also has a completely different style of games (that are made to compete with the PS2, and not GC).
The consoles will most likely both do very well.
Sonic
The GC has totally different games to the xbox!

Firstly, Mario and Zelda.
Nintendo seems to have lost it's cool head and gone a "mini game" spree. If Nintendo carry on this madness then these two games will be fun, but will feel more like cheap spin off's rather than the big epic adventures we were hoping for.
Secondly, Malice isn't an Xbox exclusive any more and any other Xbox "exclusives" are most likely going to appear on the PC anyway...
Thirdly, the specs released are misleading.
The Gamecube's 12 million is during a normal game when you control your player and random things happen.
The Xbox's 150 million is just a pure power estimate and drops to under 20 million when in game conditions.
More powerful, but not enough to make a mind blowing difference.
Finally, third party support.
The N64 was large, cumbersome, awkward and expensive to devellop for, especially with Nintendo's high lisencing fees and those bulky cartriges.
This time round, the Gamecube is very develloper friendly with neat optical disks and easy to program for hardware.
If you'd said this 6 months ago, few people could really disagree (apart from the third party which has been around for a while).
It's a crazy industry.
By the way, I like your name.
How many times has Internet Explorer stopped responding for you? :-D
