My second's in awesome but not in great
My third is in mother but not seen in dad
My fourth is in sunny but never in sad
My fifth is a vowel found in water not creek
My sixth is found only in one day of the week
My seventh's two of three that you learn when you're young
My eighth's not in song but it's there when it's sung
My ninth's in eleven and twelve, not thirteen
My tenth is in island and river, not stream
My eleventh's in precious and secret and paste
My twelfth is in phantom and spectre and haste
My whole stalks the night in a quiet dreamlike state
With no memories the next day of being out late

Mornin all!
And, um, no!

The Man:
Is it important what job he does?
Is he disabled in any way?
Does he have any illnesses
The Gate:
Is this a hinged gate?
Or a gate that raises?
Or a logic gate?
Or some other type of gate?
Could I walk through the gate?
Manner of death:
Does it matter how the man died?
Did he drown
was he attacked
was it suicide?
was it murder
was it an accident?
Took me a while, because of some chattering that had been going on, to find this.

Was it a security type gate onto a railway track
Was it a security type gate on the back of a ferry

another possibility is a gate on death row
and the man drowned, along with his wife, who was blind.
Her guide dog could swim (doggie paddle) and so survived.
