Bit of a serious topic to all those out there who cheat. Not on games but in here on these forums. Lately there has been a lot of people being accused of cheating or found guilty of cheating and not only does it break the rules of the forum it is also breaking the law. The ones who do it know who they are and soon so will the staff. The majority of the users are fine and obey the rules but there are a few exceptions who should take note.

The rules of special reserve state:"In submitting written material you agree to indemnify Inter-Mediates Ltd, Freeolaand Special Reserve against all liabilities arising from infringement of copyright orintellectual property rights. Basically, in plain English - this means that the materialmust be original and written by you. Please do not send other people's work. If you
do, you run the risk of being banned from our site."

But that is just the rules of SR. Now my knowledge of law and all that is fairly basic but I do know that stealing other peoples work, plagiarism is wrong and if you use a small piece of someone else work in your post then you should say, and state where it came from. If the original author of the review/post etc finds your copy they may wish to take legal action against you (Remember special reserve do have your name/address etc)

I know SR ban people who cheat (usually after a warning), Im not sure if they do but maybe a good idea would also be to prevent to person ever winning a GAD or FAD again. That way they have nothing to gain by cheating. When some people are banned they just sign up again which kind of defeats the purpose of banning them in some cases.

I'm not going to go on about it anymore. Those who do it have been warned and the chances are you will get caught. If anyone wants to post more exact details about the various laws concerning plagiarism and copyright then I would be happy to read them. In short if you cheat then you deserve to pay the price.

The best cheat was a guy who copied a F355 preview, calling it a review, before the game came out. Won gad. Claimed F355.

i couldn't give a monkey's (no offence monkey man) about people cheating. in most cases it's a waste of time i mean look at HHH he didn't win did he.

lets get back to gaming and let the cheaters get cought in there own time. they will be found out eventualy.

Toobe honest, it' not like HHH has done much wrong. He was using his innitiative (if he did it) but got caught. Besides, most reviews in the ukreviews are just magazine reviews with the words mixed around. In fact, NOM don't have a website and people have just copied reviews without SR being able to check.

I know SR don't want to charge people to join or make everyone on here a member of SR but these could be the only way of really banning people. IE make their SR member number an extra used with their password.

Maybe a consideration could be that when you join you use your own or a parents credit card number so that if in any cases a wining post is copied they just deduct the cost of the game and posting from the credit card. I know this is maybe taking it too far but it is an idea.
