Lee Bowyer has been placed on the transfer market because he refused to pay a fine from the club.

Good News for Man Utd, this means that they can sell Beckham and still get someone just as good, at a faction of the cost.

Well, Bowyer did play today and he scored. Leeds still lost though, as Newcastle came back from 3-1 down to win 4-3!! What a week for the Magpies!!!

Does this mean Leeds and David O'Leary have put all of what he's done behind them, and allowed him to carry on playing for the club??? I spose they need him though, if they are to carry on challenging for the title. They can't really leave out a star player if they want to succeed!

I wanna see the highlights later, to see all the player's and crowd's reactions to Bowyer as he was allowed to play. And what the analysists think after the match. But I prefer the Sky guys to the boring Premiership. I don't think Bowyer should be let off so lightly, or Woodgate!! They're both EXTREMELEY LUCKY!! I don't know if 'The Ghost Of Elland Road'(Jonathan Woodgate) actually played though?

BRING BACK Match Of The Day!!!!

I think in the back of my mind, I always knew he was going to stay with Leeds.

Not neccessarily stay of his own accord, but I knew Leeds would back down. There was just something about Ridsdale and O'Leary that made me beleive if he DID actually decide to go they'd back down. It was a case of which one would back down as opposed to whether or not he'd go.

Can't say I agree with him staying and the board backing down, but at least I don't have to worry about Glenn Hoddle buying him! That'd be a disaster.

Apparently he's agreed to pay the fine now, and will be staying.

Yeah, ok, that may be true. But who's gunna want to sign him now??? No-one will want a player that is un-controlable off the pitch, even if he's brilliant on the pitch!

The fans won't accept him at Leeds anymore i'm sure!! He'll just get booed off the pitch, straight from the teams' pre-match warm-up!! Will any club ever want him again??? He's seriously put the future of his career in doubt! And he's surley ruined his chances of making the 2002 World Cup squad, for now anyway!! What will he do??

I believe that David O'Leary was told after he signed Folwer that he would have to sell one of his quality players to pay some towards the running costs of the club.

This decision of Bowyer was a great reason to sell a player for big bucks. £15m plus should help Leeds.

Also i have not heard if Bowyer is complaining to the PFA or not as a 4 week fine is against the rules set out, the max is 2 weeks.

I think that O'Leary's done this to make Bowyer do something about it! He may be trying to bring in £10+ rom his sale, or he may be getting into his mind to try and make him do something like apologize, but even greater. Something that will help give him a good reputation and make more people accept him, and try to forget what he's done. Some PR work might be good for him.

But it it an impossible task really and he's probably ruined his chances away from Elland Road because of what he was involved in. I think he may have to consider early retirement, or at least international retirement!

I wouldnt be surprised if Brooklyn was already destined for a top club when hes older. Whether hes good at football or not hes going to be a football pro.

An example of this is Jordi Cruyff, who admittedly is pretty good now, but when he first hit the scene at Barcelona he only played because of his Dad's stature.

If Beckham is staying why has he not signed the contract that has been on offer for the last couple of months.

The reason for this is becuase POSH wears the trousers in that family and so she makes the decisions. That is why Beckham has not signed yet, but will move soon as Posh wants to go Italy or Spain for the fashion and the climate.
