first of all sonic is cool and is one of the most fastest characters u play in any game(probably the fastest).
second sonic is a computer game charater and does not think he is merly computer code and as a fictional character and aimed at children i think his voice is fine.
and besides no matter how cool a character is if he had gene hackmans voice it would ruin the entire game(if not the entire console system and put the company out of business). and besides who is this Lan Dick guy u keep talking about, sonic is 1000 times more popular that him.
