You know it makes sense :D

Anyway, i can understand how shooting can become frustating for some people. But as you said, this is supposed to be a 'realistic' game. If you want to score every single time go and play somthin a bit more 'arcadey' like ISS on the N64.

I'm surer Pro evo doesn't take too kindly to being called 'it'.

I have to agree with Ortega, the shooting to me is really no different from the previous games. When i shoot i press the direction i want the ball to go and it goes that way, unless i have just been tackeled in which case the ball flies sky high. :D

But i really dont see how people think the game is not as good as the previous games, it based on the same engine only with cetain areas improved to be made more realistic, like the control of the ball. Some say that its bad and players take too long to control it, but do you see real football players control the ball first time all the time and as fast as the speed of light as in Evo 2? No, i rest my case, this is the greatest football game ever.

Right since everyone else is doing it, I'll give a mini-review. There is nothing to do anyway so that will fill time.

Pro Evo is and will be for some time the greatest football game on PS2. Why? Because almost everything about it is great. The graphics are great! The gameplay is great! It is a classy game to play for all people even if they don't like football! After getting into it you won't go back until ISS Pro Evo 2 is out on PS2! Crowd chants are real and sound great. There is a full European licsense in the game which means real names. Well European ones anyway. The noly real letdown is the commentary. Terry Butcher sounds like an idiot just as usual. He says the same lines over and over again, and sometimes in the wrong places. But the game really doesn't have any other flaws at all.

The multiplayer is another thing. Up to 8 people can play it at a time, and unlike FIFA 2002 this can actually be fun. Yes FIFA's multiplayer does improve the fun but since FIFA is so bad compared to Pro Evolution, this doesn't really mean much. The ISS series has always focused a lot on multiplayer. And they can do it well. There is nothing like playing on your own against a few friends and beating them all because they're all in the wrong places or getting in each other's way. Pure class!

Thanks for reading, Afro

Emmmmm, 98%

This game only loses 2% due to it's bad commentary and that stale atmosphere in the games, but anyway, this is the best football game, ever, so what do percentages matter with that unanimous recommendation??

Trickybloke and FatButcher are two of the three mates I was playing Pro Evo with last night.

We played 9 games in total I think - drew the first, then they took a 3-0 lead... before we went on a 5-game winning streak and opened a can of whopp-ass on them, beating them by 5 games to 3 - including two routs of 3-0 and 4-1.

Fat enjoyed the night and was a gracious loser.

Tricky is peeved that he's not quite as good at this as he was at FIFA (because there's no 'waltz through the opposition and score every time' spin move, and is just a loser! :-)

This game didnt make as big an impact on me as I had hoped. It left me feeling quite dissapointed when I got it home, after a couple of games tho things became easier passing more fluent etc. I still dont think that it has progressed enough from previous Fifa's to be called the ultimate footballing game as there is definately room for improvement.
The commentary is absolutely diabolical, there's no enthusiam and whoever the muppet is has a vocab of about fifty words, as opposed to Terry Butchers ten. "This match had everything" yawn yawn, much like every other game you've ever commentated on apparently then Terry!
There is little if any validation in the code, you can choose rain and end up playing in an indoor stadium for example, according to the commentator you bring people down when you can see them standing there right infront of you - it is all so infuriating.
The game engine itself is very good, but every other area falls short of Fifa in my opinion. For a game missing so many nice touches of other football games I can't see how it could possibly receive over 90%
I would give it 85%

To disagree with Triple H, I think shooting is spot on :p

Anyway, this game just got better for me today. I unlocked 'classic' Argentina. And oh yes, I got to play as Maradona. One of the best players in the game.

I'll unlock 'classic' Brazil later today, and have to quality of Pele at my fingertips. And then classic Holland, I dont really know who is in the team, but hopefully Van Basten is.

What a game...

I give it 90%, but i'll only give my skill at playing it 20%, the 10% it doesn't get is when, 30% of the time the players shake instead of running for the ball, i'll give the multiplayer 95% as playing it like that is mighty enjoyable (cheers wookiee, your the hostess with the mostest)

I'll give Wookiee 83% as he did whoop our ar'ses after he got the hang of it, and even though I failed to score I'll take 76% of the credit for setting them up.

Now I will go and wake up my missus and score 100% :)
