Rockstar smacked us all in the face with GTA3.
Now, they're doing another game called "State of Emergency", looks similar in a "Commit randomn carnage" type of thing.

Can they surprise us again?
Are Rockstar becoming a name to watch?

Your mission is to go out onto the web and find info for "State of Emergency" and report back with your findings and opinions.

Go do it.
Now.

They say it's a mad adrenaline rush... so it should be fun... i don't know if it's comparable to flooring a dude in Birmingham and trying to dodge the Uzi bullets... but it should be fun...

They are a name to watch out for. I mean they have already had some great hits and don't forget they have Max Payne too.

I thought the game was out on the 18th... of err... January...

Stupid PlayStation... Nintendo don't mess around with release dates! Maybe... if it was 2013 AD

SOE does look good, and will probably take up my next GAD prize - provided I get one, but although it is a big game, and it does have a little in common with GTA3, the game isn't as detailled...

To be honest it's a bit like a free-roaming 'The Bouncer' with weapons and objectives.. the whole idea of the game is to beat people up... I know there are side missions, such as escorting, protecting, timed missions and what not, but essentially, the game is a beat 'em up! - Even Rockstar Said so!

I've downloaded the latest Gamespot videos from Gamespot's trip to the R* offices in New York, and I have to say, the graphics aren't great... sure the character models have to be at a considerable low to fit all the characters on the screen, but the shadows, like in GTA3, are crap... and the real-time lighting, like in GTA3, goes through concrete walls...

Still, with all the action that the game is guaranteed to provide, graphics will be the last thing on our minds...

The AI is supposed to be great, and unsurprisingluy it takes up about 65% of the PS2's memory resources.... or something like that... if you attack, some people will run away, but others will fight... sometimes people will attack with you, and then attack you when there is no-one else left to hurt...

What is good, is the cartoony look to the game... I mean, it's hardly realistic... which means Rockstar and VIS Interactive should be able to get away with a lot more...

Overall, it seems quite good, but I wouldn't get your hopes up about it being ground-breaking and super-detailled like GTA3 was... there just isn't enough there... it's a beat 'em up with weapons and a few missions...

i saw stuff on this game way back in may just after E3, just look on PSWs or any PS2 magazines that has DVD footage in it to see how good it is.

Methinks this game wont be out for a while because if you aim the rocket launcher at certain buildings they will collapse.

you can set people on fire and then stamp on them like in GTA3

Brilliant! As usual the careful and intuitive production that Freeola puts into everything it sets out to do, I am delighted.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
