Now, they're doing another game called "State of Emergency", looks similar in a "Commit randomn carnage" type of thing.
Can they surprise us again?
Are Rockstar becoming a name to watch?
Your mission is to go out onto the web and find info for "State of Emergency" and report back with your findings and opinions.
Go do it.
Now.

Stupid PlayStation... Nintendo don't mess around with release dates! Maybe... if it was 2013 AD
To be honest it's a bit like a free-roaming 'The Bouncer' with weapons and objectives.. the whole idea of the game is to beat people up... I know there are side missions, such as escorting, protecting, timed missions and what not, but essentially, the game is a beat 'em up! - Even Rockstar Said so!
I've downloaded the latest Gamespot videos from Gamespot's trip to the R* offices in New York, and I have to say, the graphics aren't great... sure the character models have to be at a considerable low to fit all the characters on the screen, but the shadows, like in GTA3, are crap... and the real-time lighting, like in GTA3, goes through concrete walls...
Still, with all the action that the game is guaranteed to provide, graphics will be the last thing on our minds...
The AI is supposed to be great, and unsurprisingluy it takes up about 65% of the PS2's memory resources.... or something like that... if you attack, some people will run away, but others will fight... sometimes people will attack with you, and then attack you when there is no-one else left to hurt...
What is good, is the cartoony look to the game... I mean, it's hardly realistic... which means Rockstar and VIS Interactive should be able to get away with a lot more...
Overall, it seems quite good, but I wouldn't get your hopes up about it being ground-breaking and super-detailled like GTA3 was... there just isn't enough there... it's a beat 'em up with weapons and a few missions...

*Dringo gets carried away again*
Methinks this game wont be out for a while because if you aim the rocket launcher at certain buildings they will collapse.
you can set people on fire and then stamp on them like in GTA3
