Recently I've conducted a survey of what shops know about the new offering from nintendo. I went into four shops around cirencester:
1. Woolworths
2. Currys
3. Choices (a video rental shop that also does a good line of games)
4. Argos
5. Virgin
Woolworths was my first stop. After finding a member of staff working in the electronics section. I asked them will you be stocking the new Gamecube.
"Gamecube?"
"yeah, Nintendo make it"
"hang on I'll ask"
Five minutes later the answer I got was don't know. Still my hopes weren't high.
Next shop was curries. I asked the manager there.
"will you be stocking the new Nintendo Game cube when it come out"
"mmmmmm....is that a games console"
"yeah"
Bloke behind the counter "Yeah we stock all the new Consoles"
Still at least I got an answer from the good people at Curries. Next stop choices.
When I asked the bloke in choices he seemed to know what he was talking about
"we'll probaly be stocking it...though it depends when it comes out"
Still i got a bloke who knew what he was talking about and he knew what it was.
Just down the road was Argos. I asked the woman behind the counter:
"Will you be stocking the Gamecube?"
"Hang on"
The answer once again was "i don't know"
Right the last stop Virgin. When I asked the bloke about the game cube he say that they would definately be stocking it. Not only did he tell me all he knew he also told me his personal thoughts on the game cube.
So out of ten I give Woolies 2/10 Argos 2/10 Curries 4/10 Choices 5/10 and Virgin 8/10.

You should also have asked about the Xbox, so you could compare and contrast....
This begs further investigation because it may not just be the level of staff training in those shops, these results may actually be something to do with the Cirencester area in general.
Not that I'm inferring anything by that.
