He was wondering which other games he should consider getting after Xmas, and I've put the following games forward:
GT3
Jak & Daxter
Silent Hill 2
Pro Evo Soccer
Devil May Cry
(Metal Gear Solid 2 when released)
Could you recommend any other games, and do you consider the games on the list I supplied him to be 'must haves'.
Thanks in advance for all being such lovely informative Christmas bunnies.

Surely the best game would be good all the time. Why pick a game that is rarely good?

Jak & Daxter - Another good looking game. Though I thought it would lack originality, its surprised me with some of its ideas. Like GT3, this is a must have.
Silent Hill 2 - Don`t own this game, but I can tell you what the reviews say. Its supposed to be hugely flawed, however, this goes unnoticed due to the incredible atmosphere that builds in the game. Its supposed to be the closest game to a movie, though I wouldn`t put it in the must have category. Its more of a "If you have the money lying about" type of game.
Pro Evo Soccer - I can`t see the point in football, football on tv, or football in games, so my view is its a "mustn`t have". However, if your brother likes football, then its the best one around, and the reviewers loved it, so I guess its a must have.
Devil May Cry - Its only flaw seems to be lastability, though due to the style of the game, its understandable that its a little short. No game or movie can maintain such a high level of excitement for more than 5-10 hours. While it lasts, its got probably the most addictive gameplay around, and is certainly a must have. However, if you are trying to choose between this and a game like Jak and Daxter or GT3, then perhaps it should be a "must rent" instead.
Metal Gear Solid 2 when released - This one really goes without saying. Its THE must have game.
Other must haves:
For tricks, Tony Hawks 3 and SSX Tricky. They are fairly evenly matched, so it`ll come down to terrain preference. Snow or concrete? Which hurts more :-) Both are highly addictive, and will serve you well. (Erm.. there I go again).
For multiplayer amazingness, TimeSplitters is still the best in my view. Its dated now, so perhaps it would be best to wait for the sequel next year. TimeSplitters 2 should have a decent single player game as well to accompany the unbeatable multiplayer thrills. If you can`t wait for the sequel though, theres Half Life out now, which has a weaker mutliplayer, but an excellent single player game - and in particular plot!
Other games to look out for next year are Herdy Gerdy, which has been highly anticipated by most magazines. I know little about it, other than it will be a "Disneyesque" herding game, starring Gerdy, the son of a famous herder. Also, Dropship should be around early next year, and its a game that seems to have Wookiee Monster excited, so it could be one to watch. Then there`s Final Fantasy 10, which won`t arrive until next June or later. Obviously not an option for this Xmas unless you import, but it`ll be worth it when it arrives.
Anyway, that about covers it. There are loads of games in the "near miss" category - Twisted Metal Black, ZOE, Starfarter, and more lists etc.., but I`m sure there are enough to keep anyone going in the huge selection above.
