"PS2 -What are the 'must-have' games?"

My brother is gettign a PS2 for Christmas, with GTA3.

He was wondering which other games he should consider getting after Xmas, and I've put the following games forward:

GT3
Jak & Daxter
Silent Hill 2
Pro Evo Soccer
Devil May Cry
(Metal Gear Solid 2 when released)

Could you recommend any other games, and do you consider the games on the list I supplied him to be 'must haves'.

Don't forget James Bond: Agent under Fire, SSX Tricky and Soul Calibur 2 when it's released. And Tony Hawks 3.

gran turismo 3
ssx tricky
tony hawks 3
grand theft auto 3
jax and daxtar
metal gear solid 2
final fantasy X

good games that i would recommend:
half life (if you haven't played pc version)
tekken tag
burnout
baldur's gate
onimusha
time crisis 2

and probably some more....but i've forgotten

Half Life is the most over-rated game EVER!!!

The must have games in my opinion are:

SSX or SSX Tricky
Pro Evolution Soccer
Tony Hawks 3
Half Life
Jak and Daxter
GTA 3
Gran Turismo 3

Whilst good at what it sets out to do, I think I'm the only one that finds GT3 a little boring in the long run.

My list of must-haves out at the moment stretches to

Grand Theft Auto 3 - one of the most fun games there is.
Pro Evolution Soccer - best football game ever.
Half-Life - best fps there will ever be.
SSX Tricky - best for replay value
Tony Hawks 3 - best for "just one more go" and difficulty curve.

Should be getting J & D soon and from what I've heard, that could be a must-have to.

Good time to get a PS2!!!

Oh, and GT3, that game kicks ass, :D

in that order, I'm sure Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance will also be in that list somewhere, but until the game arrives at my door, I don't have a Scooby.....

Er there's lots of must have titles but your brother is more likely to know what kind of games he would view as must have, i say ask him!

Woah! Yeh I nearly forgot Fusion! Also due early next year, and expected to be every bit as successful as wipeout 2097. Again, its not perfect for Xmas, as it won`t arrive in time, however, if you can wait, it`ll be worth it.
