Who are the better classic rock band? i can't decide myself as i like both of them, in fact they are probably my two favourite bands. don't get me wrong i like todays music just as much. bands like Green Day, Sum 41, Blink 182 have created some of the best power chord music i have heard. but i will always sit down and put Led Zep or Queen on ahead of these, purely because their music is just more attention grabbing. The fact that these two bands are still listened to today (and i mean by people under 20 just as much as over it) shows how classy their music is and how it will be around for a lot longer. Probably.
I guess i favour these two bands because i play the guitar and i prefer playing music that is challenging rather than power chords. Dont get me wrong power chord music sounds brilliant, but playing that against a complicated Jimmy Page/Brian May solo, the solo always wins. So for all those classic rockers out their who do you think is better - Queen or Led Zeppelin? i would be interested to find out what you think of them, and also the reasons for why some of u dont like them. (other than Brian May's haircut that is).

hm. Queen rocked and really moved with the times, although this was partly detrimental when you listen to some of the keyboard stuff from the 80's. *shiver* They have been an inspiration to many and although not a fan of Mercury's solo career, I liked nearly everything they did.
Led Zepplin changed little, but in a good way, they kept their spirit alive and made some classic tunes too. They were pretty weird at one point though, very prog rock, although it's pretty interesting stuff all the same.
Two different bands really, despite them both being from the rock stable. Both very good too.

But did you think Freddie Mercury's songs were better than the ones he did with queen? Brian didnt need Freddie either, look at him now. Page is still going strong though, he had the gig with the Black Crowes, which was unfortunately cancelled due to a back injury (i think). Also i think that Plant sounds better on recorder music rather than live. I just bought The Song Remains The Same DVD and Page steals the show 90% the other ten going to John Bonham and his fabulous Moby Dick Drum solo. ur thoughts?

But did you think Freddie Mercury's songs were better than the ones he did with queen? Brian didnt need Freddie either, look at him now.
