Does anyone else wonder about what sort of game we could see on Gamecube after this year? After the current batch, are we looking at another round of sequels to the current lot or do you think Nintendo have something else up their sleeve?

A sequel to Rouge Leader is in the works as we speak apparently...
I've got a good feeling that "new franchise" to be unvelied at E3 will be the Fire Emblen series. Hey - it's new to us Europeans!
I doubt Nintendo will have anything 'entirely-new' to offer, not even something like Pikmin.

Confirmed sequels are Mario 128, Pikmin 2, Animal Crossing 2, another Metroid and another Zelda.
Still to come are Wario World, Donkey Kong, F-Zero, Starfox Armada, Mario Kart, Kirby's Air Ride and 1080 Snowboarding.
It's also been confirmed that a totally new franchise will be unveiled at E3.

Well bringin' out sequels is what Sony are doin' with the PS2, so either Nintendo will copy them, seeing as they have been quite successful, or steer clear of sequels and stay as they great company they already are, by bringing out really innovative and fresh games...
