Depends, if they have very good eyesight and could see a nun on the track from about 1.5 miles away, then it could work.

Well I'm guessing as it was day time he saw her praying from quite far back and had time to stop but just to be sure I'll say that god made sure it stopped just in time heh:D
Wouldn't work. Going at normal speed it wouldn't have enough time to suddenly halt, and the nun would die.
