"Doors. No, bear with me here."

One thing has always confused me in games. Why is it that barely any doors EVER have handles that rotate, twist or whatever to open. All they do is swing backwards and forwards, backwards and forwards.

And another thing - the doors never get blown off their non-existent hinges. The only occasion a door has been blown up is when the alien slave bursts through a door in one of the early half-life maps.

Can anybody prove me wrong? Do doors do more than swing both ways?

i've always thought that shooting a door with a napalm launcher would blow it open or at least show some visable damage, but I was wrong.

All I have to say is that Metal Gear Solid 2 is full of little things like that. I mean you can shoot the birds out of the sky and yes you can knock the doors of there hinges.

In some old games you have door that dont open, but you just end up on the other side of them! More magic doors...Wow there are everywhere!!!

In FF7 The doors disappear wow another case of magic doors, i could go on about this all night but.......I wont

ah the old star trek type door. but the doors i hate are the ones that are locked.

And what aboput that part open door with some kind of red light behind it in resident evil 2 on psx what was behind that?

On Res evil the door knobs turn and handles

Red Faction has doors that stay there when you blow up the walls around them!!!

And there are doors in Zelda that flatten you when you try to open them.

There are magic doors in Dungeon Keeper that shoot fireballs!!!

Plus there are those rotating doors, oh and those ones that open upwards automaticly!
