After playing it you can't help but feel a little cheated, especially the massive 4mb of space it takes up on your memory card!
A good game, but maybe not one you'll be playing for THAT long after unlocking the bonuses.
Mind you I got into one of those before. I knew a guy who tried to open a videogames shop in the Wickford high street. Didn't last all that long and he ended up selling stock from his home and stuff. Thing is, he got a letter through about going to one of the Traders only things and he asked me and another guy - Rob who used to help him out if we fancied going with him just for a day out ;-))
Of course me and Rob were ready to go as soon as the phone was put down ;-)) Only thing is, we had to think of a company name to get in so we were sitting in the car thinking of one to use. John (the guy who had the shop) was a bit, lets say, plump ;-)) So it was like a simultanious thing - we were all like FB Games !!! Well, we actually said it in its full version - the F meaning Fat and the B not needing any explaining ;-))
It was quite funny going round with the badge round our necks with FB Games written on it ;-))
It was this day that I also did something a bit nasty and although it gets a few laughs I still feel a bit guilty - well sometimes ;-)
Basically it was when Tekken 2 and the first of the F1 series was about to come out on PS1. I was desperate to play Tekken 2 and made my way over to where it was. This guy saw me going to a free machine and sped his pace up to get there first. So I was waiting and suddenly the guy seemed to move a little funny and he hit the controller and I was thinking "steady on mate, your at a games show, not your house". Just after this he's like gone to the ground, he went down in a way that it looked like he'd thrown himself down and he started flailing his arms and legs everywhere. I was like "god and I thought I was bad !". Turns out the guy was actually having an epileptic fit. Of course I realised this and for a moment I went to help him, despite not really knowing what to do.
Then I looked from down to forward.....The Tekken 2 machine was now free. I can't believe I did this - I stepped over the bloke who was now wetting himself and started to play Tekken 2. Of course his friends or collegues saw him and came to his aid and knowone looked at me funny or anything cause it was kinda busy, so I guess people just thought I hadn't seen him or something.
It was awhile ago that I posted it though - told them about how I was kicking everyones butt with you watching only to miss the big streetfighter tournament going on behind me ! ;-))
Remember all those prizes ? How i just wanted to cry cause there were so many things to win and the 2 finalists sucked so badly ;-))
I walked away from the show with Lotus 3 for the Amiga but could have walked away with like £1000 worth or more of consoles, games and vouchers ;-))
You'll find things with it in a short time that you'll think could have been better, but overall its a good game to play. I think most of your time will be spent in the create a wrestler and exhibition modes though - the story is almost non-existant. You'll get a lot more out of it than some if you get your friends round to play it - Or I'll always be happy to get together and give you a severe tanning on it ;-))
No honestly now.....i think its terrible
I loved Smackdown 2 and got SMD3 on release day.
And within 3hrs I put it away, never to play it again.
The graphics are good, the moves are good and the actual in-ring stuff is ok.
2 reasons I detest this game:
1 - Reversals.
To easy to reverse a move, I spent most of my time sliding about with my opponent instead of wrestling. Rubbish.
2 - No career mode.
Smackdown 2 had a fantastic career mode, took ages and loads of different match types until you got the belt. You could enter as many human-controlled characters as possible, so you and a mate could play simultaneously, seeing who got to the top 1st etc.
But they took that out.
Instead, there's a rubbish story mode where 3 matches and you win - then end of game, start again with another 3 matches.
No option to include more than 1 human character.
Just shoddy, 3 matches and that's it, game over.
Exhibition is ok, but limits the longevity of this game massively.
I'm not saying this game is pants, I'm saying it was pants for what I wanted from a game.
Rubbish.
Get Soul Reaver 2 instead.
