scenario 1: - you've been trying to complete a game for ages and are stuck on the final part/big boss, you have been playing for ages trying to defeat the final boss and you think that your just about to succeed although you are particulary low on health, ammo, items e.t.c and are in the worst possible position and one single mistake "lapse of concetration" can send you right back to square on where you started from x number of hours ago, when suddenly you hear the creaking of the door which you try to ignore as your concentration rate rapidly deteriorates and suddenly you younger/older brother/sister bursts through the door for no apparent reason but to annoy you.
you then are distracted by their presense in the room and you make that fatal mistake (whatever that may be)and get really annoyed with the game/distaction or both, This problem can occur endless times as long as your at a crucial part in a game in my experience.
here's another scenario, see if it also sounds familliar.
scenario 2: - Your at a really annoying/repetitive part of a game that you really can't be bothered to do but struggle on as it is stopping your progress in the game, e.g a tricky puzzle in a dungeon in zelda/part in course of a racing game.
You start by sitting back in a relaxed position only to find that the lead of the controller or cramped position is supposedly limiting your progress, so you move closer to the tv and console as you think that will help but it just irritates your eyes and annoys you even more so that your distacted so much that you still can't do it!
As a last resort (almost) you decide to take the logical approach and sit on a chair as you think it may be good for your posture and concentration, this seems like a good idea and almost helps but not quite, you are now feeling quite frustarated now and decide to revert back to your original position.
You now find that after a few more tries you complete your objective (finally) and wonder why you wasted so much time. (i find myself repeatidly in this situation especially when playing mario Tennis)
i find myself in these two situations quite a lot when playing games, even more so when I have bought a lot of games in one go, and yet I never seem to learn from my mistakes. when in scenario 1 i have even tried locking the door but my brother has to repeatidly tap on the door whining "what game are you playing?" and is a constant destraction in this situation.
has anyone else ever been in or constanly finds themselves in these situations or is it just me? as I find in my case however much i try to change my gaming ways, it's allways the same reaccurant problems maybe it's force of habit, i don't really know but it's allways made me wonder why?
If it's one thing i have learned form my many years of gaming it's that silence is golden in terms of gaming and is sometimes a neccesity but a neccesity that does'nt seem to exist for very long, and distractions will always be in the way no matter what is done to try to avoid or get rid of them.
Gaming may be a pleasure at times but when it's not, it really is frustrating! now then i think i'll go and takle that boss on Jet Force Gemini... or maybe not!
I then was beaten by Birdo! (of all characters!) how annoying!!!

One time I was really far in a level in Perfect Dark (which Ive completed)that I had been tring to complete for ages! So guess what she did..........yes she came in turned the N64 off and said it was her turn.
Also every year at Xmas when you get a new game you just want to play it. But not around her no they disapear with it, and have to be the first to play it!
Luckily I trained my other sister to like/play games so I can borrow games from her (shes alot older, so has more money :) )
