The idea of Sonic is to play from start to finish in one go!
Don't go tarting about with saves!
Sega have just been lazy, they wanted some quick cash.
I was going to get it until I realised how many faults it has. It SHOUlD have saves, and they haven't even taken out the slowdown from the original megadrive versions. It's appalling.
Think how easy it would be if it did have save progress features...
How would you be able to get every-last-Emerald in the first Sonic??
At least there's a Password system with Dr.Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, though.
I like this collection... Reminds me of beter days.
I'd still reccomend it to anyone who likes Sonic or SEGA, even if the games are still EXACTLY the same.
But what's really missing is Sonic CD -- a game I reckon SEGA are already planning to re-release on the GBA of 'Cube!
But just try and complete Act 2 of the Carnival Night Zone on Sonic 3 --- im-bloody-possible!!! :@
Anyway, the whole point of Mega Collection is to emulate the exact versions that were on the MegaDrive, therefore, no save features if they weren't originally included, and slowdowns if they were.
I don't like the loading times though...for 16-bit games, they're appalling.
You really WANT slowdown?
Much like the slowdown on Metroid Prime I encountered when going through a door in Phendrana Drifts (sp?) whilst as a morph ball.
I didn't want the slowdown, but it didn't bother me in the slightest.
