Seeing as Channel 4's poll was disagreed by most of us, I thought I'd see what us forum members thought. What are your top ten films? Please say, and I'll send you a shiny penny. Well, I might. You never know your luck. Here's mine, anyway:

1 - Gladiator
2 - Star Wars
3 - Dogma
4 - The Italian Job
5 - Pulp Fiction
6 - The Usual Suspects
7 - Jaws
8 - Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
9 - Silence of the Lambs
10 - Schindler's List

In the end, I'll add it all up and see what our Top 10 are.

Star Wars Episode 1 at the top spot!?!?!?!

HOW!?!?

I have to say

Bah, stop talking rubbish and appreciate it for the brilliant movie it really was. :P

It's mostly adults that didn't like it because Jar-Jar was directed towards kids. You don't say!! And also, they all got used to the poor (in these days) special effects, and all the old characters. Pah, Episode 1 is much better, in every department! Surely the lightsabre battle is one of the most exciting scenes of a movie you've ever seen?

Well anyway, here are my top 10:

1) Heat - No surprise there then. Had to be.

2) Gladiator - The only bad scene that I can think of in this entire film is near the beginning where Commudus and Lucillia are in the carriage on the way to Germania. And my God is it bad. Everytime I watch it, I get to this scene and think 'how boring is this scene'. Every single time withot fail. Other than that though, fantastically good film. Amazing. Brilliant. Astonishing. And all other words like that you can think of. Oh, Gob-smacking. :-D

Hmmmm I get stuck at this point every time. D'oh!

Errrrrr.....

3) Glengarry Glen Ross - Really really funny. Great cast, great script, great acting, great film.

4) Point Break - Keanu Reeves ruins it slightly but Patrick Swayze more than makes up for it. The ultimate in feel good films.....really. All it makes you wanna do is surf, sky dive, rob banks and basically have fun all your life. Which might be a bad thing. :-D

5) Pulp Fiction - Amazingly funny. Fantastic cast. "Lines delivered with the upmost style from the starting moment" (Vattican Council). Put together brilliantly.

6) Die Hard - Favourite film for a VERY long time as a small boy.

7) Gattaca - Oh how I love this film. Jude Law rules! WATCH IT AGAIN GAZ!!

8) Jaws - The music makes this film 3 times as good. I remember seeing this when I was really young....very vaguely. Not sure if it scared but watching it again now.....it must have!!! :-D

9) Carlito's Way - Now there is quite a story behind this film and me. My quest to see it lasted years. Literally. I won't go into it now though. I'll just say it's a great film with one of the best end sequences I've ever seen.

10) Hannibal - I don't care what people say about this. It IS better than Silence of the Lambs. And about Jodie Foster making the role her own?!?! She was awful. Julianne Moore could kick her 'ass in a fight.....or maybe just pull her hair. Either way, it's bad. I don't know Starlings. :-D

And that's my top 10. No doubt it will change again in a matter of days though. I have a constant top 2 and that's where I get lost. :-D

The speeded up kicks crack me up every time.

On the DVD, Donnie Yen talks about when they speeded up the kicks. He reckons it is one of the best martial arts sequences ever and looks great......but really it looks completly ridiculous and stupid. Sorry to disappoint you Donnie. :-D
