I've thought of something.

We're all wonderfully individual people, yes? And by that individuality, we all have different tastes.

We also, as people, have experiences that we would love to share with others. Our lives are just one great big experience, and we can learn much from studying our own lives.

So... tell me. Is there something you want everyone to do? Listen to a piece of music? Visit somewhere? Talk to someone, ask them anything? Have sex? Watch a film? Read a book? Play a game? Anything! If you loved the experience, then why not share it with us, and try and convince us to do what you did.

And anyone who reads it, I think, should make every effort to do so. Hell, we live just the once, right? So why shouldn't we try and sample everything we can?

Come on then, what do you want us to do?

(First: "Shut up?")

(Second: "Oh! I was going to write that!")

I've found this bit of advice helpful.

"It's better to be a good listener than a good speaker."

Trust me, if I could then I would.
And I'd make it answer the door and flip it's middle finger at people

I've just read this whole thread through, and it's pretty damn fantastic. If only I had been online last night, ah well...

Anyway, suggestions from me:

Eat a whole jam doughnut without licking your lips.

Download some music by Saint Germaine - it's fantastic chilled out/jazz/house stuff that sounds wierd when you try and describe it, but it is really good - honest! Go to Amazon as they have the track listing for the BOULEVARD album - get any track off of that.

Tell your parents you love them.

Tell your brothers and/or sisters you love them.

Don't be greedy this Christmas - get pleasure from the giving of presents NOT the receiving.

Try again to eat a whole jam doughnut without licking your lips.

Go out with some mates and get completey ratted, then stay up and watch the sun rise.

That is a brave move! It is amazing how many people will try to stop you from changing because they want you to stay as you are, because it suits them. Ignore them. Take control of your own life.

You make your own luck, and sometimes you have to work a little bit harder than the next guy just to get by in life, but I believe there comes a point in life when all you do will 'come back to you', as it were.

Wow. This is a good thread. Must. Do. Some. Work. Now.

Oh... as to something you should do, try listening to "One" and "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. Yes. I know you think they are a hard core thrash metal band, but these songs have some of the most thoughtful lyrics I have ever heard. You will change your mind about Metallica after listening to those songs.

And hey, I'm a fan of R&B / Hip-Hop / House music.

Yeh, Bill Hicks was really funny. I think I only saw one of his shows on C4, but he had me in stiches, but at the same time made me think... One of his funniest ones about stupid people giving weed smokers a bad name was...

"If you think you can fly, why not take off from the ground? Why go to the top of a high building???"

Nothing disrespectful about that Fish-e, don't worry mate.

Very few people have, he just wasn't a popular comic because his style isn't easily digestible by the sort of people that think Jim Davidson is funny or similar "comics".
But it's part of my mission to get his stuff out to as many people as I can.
My two favourite pics of him are on my website:
