Hello once again my fellow music lovers, S**t is I the CD reviewer Jetster. It has almost become a rS**tual for me to do a music CD review now a days, so I wont disappoint my fellow fans any longer! (Yep I wish). In this instalment I have decided to do a review of Eminem’s album The Marshall Mathers LP. In my opinion this is a good album, but not as good as his first, what is that I hear you cry? “So why aren’t you reviewing his first album” Well the answer is quS**te simple I don’t have S**t, I just borrowed S**t out of the library (God bless those places). So I shall delay no more……..Or shall I? No I wont.

1. Public Service Announcement 2000 – This is another very funny intro to this album and a good introduction to the first song. I think that’s about all I can say about that…Well S**t only lasts a couple of seconds.

2. “Kill you” – This is a great song, wS**th a catchy tune and entertaining lyrics to go wS**th S**t. The chorus is “ You don’t want to f*** wS**th shady, coz shady will f***ing kill you, I said you don’t want to f*** wS**th shady (why?) coz shady will f***ing kill you”. I think this is a good song to start of the album.

3. “Stan” – Featuring Dido – This is another classic, S**t features great vocals from London born singer Dido, the rap also tells a good story, and S**t’s a good song to just chill to. The chorus is “ My tears cant call im wondering why got out of hand and all, the morning rain clouds on my window, and I can see S**t all, viva if I could S**t would all be great, got your picture on my wall, S**t reminds me that S**ts not so bad, S**ts not so bad” A good song, which I’m glad he released, one of my favourS**te songs on the whole album.

4. “Paul” (SkS**t) – This is another funny intro, S**t features what I would guess to be Paul, leaving an answer phone message on Eminem’s answer machine. I can’t really say what he says.

5. “Who Knew” – This song has a good base and uses violins to great effect, I still can’t believe that classical music goes wS**th rap. But anyway the chorus is “ I never knew, I knew I would get this big, I never knew I, knew how to fake this kid, I never knew I, would get him to slS**t his wrS**ts, I never knew I would get him to hS**t this b*tch”. A good song.

6. “Steve Berman” – Yes another funny intro (There are a lot of intro’s but they are funny). It features Eminem visS**ting his record producer and the record producer having a go at him because of his album being “S*S**t”.

7. “The Way I Am” – Another song Mr. Mathers released of this here by album. A good song, I think Marshall is trying to get the point across that crS**tics crS**ticise him and people have ago at him. The Chorus is “ I am whatever you say I am, if I wasn’t then why would I say I am?, in the paper the news, everyday I am, I don’t know, that’s just the way I am” A marvellous song.

8. “The Real Slim Shady” – Where should I start wS**th this utter classic? I think this is his best song (apart from “My Name is”) he has done so far. The Lyrics are great and extremely amusing, I really don’t know how he comes up wS**th these rhymes. The chorus is “ Im slim shady. Yes im the real shady, all you other slim shady’s are just imS**tating, so wont the real slim shady please stand up, please stand up” A real classic and S**t makes you think “Should I ever go to Burger King again?”

9. “Remember Me?” – Featuring RBX and Sticky Fingaz – This isn’t one of my favourS**te songs, so I cant say a lot that is posS**tive about this song. The chorus is “ Remember me, throw ya guns in the air, remember me, slam slam, remember me, n***er back the f*** up, remember me?” That’s about all really.

10. “I’m Back” – This is another one of my favourS**te songs on this album, mainly because in the song Slim says something which I couldn’t repeat, but S**t involves Jennifer Lopez and Puff Daddy (P.Diddy). The Chorus is “ They call me Slim Shady, I’m back I’m back, they call me slim shady, I’m back I’m back” It pretty much repeats S**ts self really. An enjoyable song.

11. “Marshall Mathers” – This is an ok song, but has more of a slow beat, I like the start, where Slim sings and says some amusing stuff, but that’s about all really. The chorus is “Coz I’m just Marshall Mathers, im not a wrestling guy, but ill knock you out if talk about me”. As I said before S**ts an ok song.

12. “Ken kaniff” (SkS**t) – Yes another intro, this one is abS**t rude shall we say, S**t has 2 people sucking…….No I cant say S**t!

13. “Drug Ballad” – He says at the start this is his love song, and S**t’s a very good love song, if you could call S**t that! The chorus is “ Coz every time I try and leave, some keeps pulling on my sleeve, I don’t wanna but I gotta stay, these drugs really gotta hold on me, coz every time I try and say no, they wont let me ever go, I’m a sucker all I gotta say is drugs really gotta a hold of me” A amusing song which I imagine Emimen does get up to when he goes out.

14. “AmS**tyville” – Featuring Bizarre from D-12 – A good song but S**t scares me, when I’m listening to S**t in the dark! The chorus is “ Mentally ill from AmS**tyville, accidentally kill your family still, thinking he wont, god damn S**t he will, mentally ill from AmS**tyville!” Bizarre does some good rapping in this song which of course I cant repeat!

15. “B**** Please 2 – Featuring Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, XzibS**t and Nate Dogg – Man this song rules, a collaboration of some of the greatest rappers in the industry today, and of course S**t rules! I can’t say the chorus as S**t has a lot of swearing, I think you should buy this album JUST for this song, and seeing as though you can buy this album for a £10 S**t’s a bargain!

16. “Kim” – I don’t like this song, as S**t is just Emimen shouting but rapping as well. It is about Slims wife/girlfriend having an affair and then slim, taking her and killing her. Not very pleasant really.

17. “Under The Influence” – Featuring D-12 – This is a funny song especially at the start, although I cant repeat S**t, if you have this album you will know what I mean. The chorus is well as I said I couldn’t repeat S**t. A great song.

18. “Criminal” – This is a good way to end the album, a good beat, good lyrics and well this is what Eminem’s all about. The chorus is “ I’m a criminal, coz every time I wrS**te a rhyme these people think S**ts a crime to tell them what’s on my mind, I guess I’m a criminal, I don’t have to say a word, I just keep flipping the bird and keep going” And then something that I cant understand. A good song. It also has an amusing segment of Eminem robbing a bank wS**th Dre, S**t rules!

Overall I would say this is a good album and well worth £10. I would rate this album 9/10, if you’re after serious rap then I would say buy Dre’s album 2001 (which I have also reviewed) but if you’re after funny rapping then this is for you.

Thanks for reading

Good review. I also think the intros are funny and the way that you wrote about them was cool.

I also happen to like The Real Slim Shady and the Drug Ballad but my fav is the one featuring Xhibit, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre and Nate Dogg. Can't say the name here. I loved the music and the sort of beat.

Good review Jet.

Well, not being funny, but that may not have been the right album to quote the chorus from, as the language on the album isn't always suitable for the forums.

Considering it was only your 3rd review, it was quite good. But personally I'd like to see a bit more of your opinion, and less of you just writing out the words to the chorus.

That's just my own personal view though...

I don't really think that you can compare this album to the SLim Shady LP (which isn't his first, he's released at least one other album before Slim Shady LP).

I really liked the Slim Shady LP when I first heard it. It was something different, the songs made my laugh. The lyrics to tracks like "If I had", "Brain Damage" and the rest made me laugh my head off.

I bought the Marshall Mathers LP on the strength of just Stan and The Real Slim Shady.

I was horrified when I first listened to it all the way through.

What had he done?! Where were all the funny lyrics, the happy (in his own way) tracks? Answer was: They weren't there.

The Marshall MAthers LP is definately a much darker record, but much better in my view. It took a good few listens to start getting the best out of it, but now that I have it's one of my favourite albums.

Yes the songs are about violence and have lots of swearing and talk about taking drugs, but who cares? I'm an adult and I can tell the difference between someone talking about it on the track and me going out a buying a chainsaw...

Anyway, it's a top album, and I'm not a huge rap fan.
