The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
The idea is, that you make a gaming jingle to the tune of a well-known Christmas carol. An idea I had a while back (ask Nice Guy if you don't believe me), but refreshed in my memory banks by FM's latest number.
So, this jingle... Preferably none of those old 'Good King Wensclas' types, something modern, but it can be a Christian one - providing people know it. It can be about Console Wars, Special Reserve, Nintendo, PS2, Stupid Gamers, RPG's... ANYTHING! But keep it clean! :D
The closing date, if the thing lasts that long will be the 14th of December at 11:59pm. Any after that from 12:00am onwards will be void.
I suppose i'll find someone to judge it in due course, and if not, I will.
So... get going!

PS: If you're interested in turning this into a EEGAD, Tony - Feel free, you can judge it if need be... but let me know!
I read your review (9/10 I believe)

Dear FM,
The reviews that I write of games BEFORE they come out, are GAD attempts only... well, they're more the result of sheer boredom, but regardless, you should NEVER listen to people who haven't played the game!
Come to think of it... I HATE racers... realisticy ones anyway, so you might love the game! I don't know if you have it yet, but well... write a review, I want to know what you think!
I sure hope Meka doesn't see this thread... lol - Grix wasn't to happy... oh well...
I've just downloaded Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds from Morpheus - it's better be good... I haven't found a decent Strategy after AOE II x-pak.

FM now has a spell checker in another browser open at all times. Just for Grix's posts....

Seriously though... £10

Well I read the review by SR for the main info, then I read your review (9/10 I believe), then the reviews by Spikee2k, Edwin27, RuffTuff, BlueChivers, Woody, Jonman, Son of Liberty (both of his reviews!), dotcomtom, Shafi, Mattyboy, Bradcatchem, Bozo, Turbo Nutta, Iraqistan Man, and Mr.Coates.
Then I streamed the 1m 47.8 sec videoclip on SR's site.
Then I checked the main Burnout website, the developer's website, a couple of rival sites all for similar information.
Then I decided that this was a game for me because although I have the racing action of Gran Turismo 3 and the smash 'em up action of Grand Theft Auto 3, I don't have a game that combines both of these desirable elements into one. So I was going to go ahead and buy it.
Then I won a GAD. So instead of buying it I claimed it.
:-)
Seriously though... £10 says you exchange it! :D
Season 01/02,
It's just like the last one,
Hate them, I do!
:D
Why don't you? You hardly do anything around here. Do something.
(No, that would seem out of character.)
...
Yeah. You're right.
:)
...Sorry.
Ignore this then...

This was shortly followed by a whole host of other song parodies, and it didn't take long before Meka started ambushing us with them when we were least expecting it.
Around January the outbursts died down, with the odd song exploding here and there much to everyone's annoyance.
The thing is, song parodies are....I can't find a word for it....'unreadable by many due to discerning tastes' may be a fair phrase.
The one I posted just now was to remind Meka of what happened last year, and hopefully he'll take it in the spirit in which it was intended and not retaliate with the '12 Games of Christmas'...or something.
