Okay, after failing miseably to get any joy from the likes of 'web artist' and such web design help packages, i've come to the conclusion i'll have to learn html.

Help! Does anyone know how i start learning html?
And that'd be all i need, along with my domain and hosting, to sort my web site out?
Anything by way of help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Start at the begining...
http://werbach.com/barebones/barebone.html

Then play around. Learn to code by hand too, aviod jumping in with WYSIWYG editors, all you'll need is notepad for now.

I wouldn't worry about domains or website addresses yet either, untill you have learned to create a site first. You don't need any of this, you can do it all on your home machine.

Look at the code of other sites and get to underdstand what each tag does... As a beginner, avoid JavaScript, CSS, DHTML and anything else other that HTML to start with, you'll only get lost.

Tables are probably the hardest thing to get to grips with as a rookie, but if your draw out the layout first, you'll find them much easier.

As a rookie, ignore anything people try to tell you to do because that's how they "always" do it, they're not "always" right!!

Your starting out, it's meant to be fun, and it's meant to be a learning experience and there's plenty of people around on here that can help out if you need it.
