Next Game Boy Color (not colour). You argue that the Sega Game Gear had colour since the release of the Mono Game Boy. Maybe , but the Game Boy (and it's offspring) are still here. This proved Nintendo could dominate the market with the quality of it's games. They were sensible and waited before using colour. This payed off, and meant the GBC's battery usage was made more efficient than Sega's power drainer thanks to technological developments in the way it was set-up.
The Game Boy Advance now. You claim 'we were then told that the machine [Game Boy Advance] would be turned into a 32bit console'. Wrong, we were told the GBA would use a 32bit proccessor, but that's where the similarities end. Also, the GBA is not a console, it's actually a hand-held. A console is a machine plugged into a TV designed primarily for playing video-games. You can't (as an individual entity) connect your GBA to your TV. You then say we have 'slightly improved Gameboy colour screens'. 'Slightly', have you actually compared the two? The GBA screen is larger, sharper and much clearer than it's GBA counter-part. 'More like a Snes than a playstation', I wish, would that be a bad thing!?!
You say you expected the games 'to play a bit better, but most are just bog standard platformers'. You fool, what gamnes do you own? Rayman Advance? X-Men? Powerpuff Girls maybe? To see what the GBA can do, get some real games, like Advance Wars, or Breath Of Fire. And if your looking for a good platformer (and haven't already completed it before), why not try Mario Advance?
You say sequels like Mario Kart and Tony Hawk are not all that different to previous versions. OF COURSE NOT. People who buy sequels are looking for more of what made the original so good, and anything unexpected would just risk upsetting it's fanbase.
Paragraph 4, I don't have the energy to argue with you on this one, it's Monday morning and I haven't had my daily intake of coffee.
I honestly belive you (and many others) were expecting too much from the GBA. 'Not being such a big leap'. What, you wanted it to make breakfast for you, do the ironing, or wipe your a**, maybe?
I bet you own 2 consoles, a Playstation and PS2 (you got a PS2 GAD prize), and you've been gaming for 3 years max. Take it from someone who knows, the GBA is an excellent games machine and you'll realise it eventually.
There, ranting finished. And I got through without insulting your terrible spelling.
Apon - Upon.
Poket - Pocket.
Gameboy is two words - Game Boy.
Hey everyone, a new game for ya'll. Look at CDouch's winning argument and spot the spelling mistakes!
Note to SR.
How in the nine Hells did this guy win. Surely that isn't the foul stench of corruption I smell eminating from my beloved club.
And CDouch, send me your defence, and I'll fight you tooth-and-nail all the way. Well, I'll just insult you actually.....but still!
