I have never played the game before, so i may not be in any position to judge, but its just doesnt appeal to me. I dont skateboard either so i dont even know who tony hawkes is.

I just dont get it! The game has come out at a similar time to quality games like silent hill 2 and half life, but it seems to be way more popular. I cant see a akteboarding game having much of a lifespan either, unless thats just me not being very open minded!

I am definately not trying to start any kind of argumant here, and what i would like most is for some of you guys to make me realise that is actually is a great game. After all, the more quality games there are the better.

Good analysis there!

I've no interest in Tony Hawk's either. The game looks very good, and I'm sure it plays very well too. And it may also have the distinction of being the first game to properly support online play.

But skateboarding and everything that goes with it just doesn't appeal to me. See, I was a kid when they first arrived... and when they went out of fashion; as far as I'm concerned, they're an unwanted 80's throwback.

Still, each to their own! :-)

I must admit that i have never been interested in skateboarding, and the ps games never interested me at all, i then decided to buy nthe gba version of tony hawks 2 and i was addicted, i heard of tony hawk 3 coming to the ps2 and i thought it looked great and if it was anything like the gba version i would buy it, the game itself is great, graphics are brilliant, well designed courses, 60fps framerate which i have only notice drop in multiplayer, gmaeplay is better than ever with loads of tricks, and the lifespan will be massive thanks to the park editor and skater editor, plus you have the split screen and not forgetting the online play, whihc i don't think anyway has tried yet?, if someone does or has then let us know how it went because it sounds great fun!, its the best game i own to date, but if you don't like it , try it, because you never know you may actually like it!

As for lifespan, the only reason I stopped playing Tony Hawk's 2, despite having unlocked, found and done everything on the game, is because I got thps 3 through the door yesterday morning.

But then I'm into skating, i skate myself (well, up until i broke myself) and have watched all these skaters as i grew up. I remember seeing Bam Margera ollie off a house aged 15 (him that is, can't remember how old i was), now he's in my PS2 - admittedly 'cause jackass, but still...

I've always been a fan of Rodney Mullen, my brother even became mullen's "bestest buddie" for an evening when the A-Team crew visited Hull (they came down the pub with us and everything... Gershon Mosely IS that cool/ arrogant)

Yep I am pretty sure. It is a great game. The game play is simple and it easy. At first my friend said "The game actually moves forward by itself.", I thought "Oh this is going to be really annoying". But it isnt the computer moves forward for you and its the best thing. The controls are easy. You could be pulling massive airs, grinds e.t.c. You get to upgrade your skater. Tons of levels, create your own skate park and skater. The best thing to do is rent it. If you dont like it then you dont have to buy it. But I would be pretty sure that you will enjoy it. As its a game that can be played for hours or 5 mins. I was at my friends and we must have play Tony Hawks 2 for an hour or more. When only I wanted a 5 min go, to see if Tony Hawks 3 was a game I would enjoy. All I can say is roll on to christmas as then I can enjoy skating and grinding my way through Tony Hawk 3.
