*Xbox is more powerful and has better graphics. Graphics do NOT make games, but the average casual gamer type just likes nice looking games.
*Xbox has FAR more advertising. Let's face it, any pile of rubbish will sell with advertising... not that the xbox is rubbish...
*Xbox has GREAT games. In fact, I will say (to many people's hate) that the xbox has a better launch line up than the GC. Does the GC honestly have any killer, AAA must-have titles that the public will embrace. no. Does xbox. Well, Halo is, whether u like it or not, one of the best games of the past few years... just read a review of it! But in addition there are games like Project Gotham to get the public really into the games. Let's face it... GT appeals far more than any Mario games to the general public... after all, GT made more money than Titanic!
*Xbox costs far more than the GC. And for this reason the box will have a big struggle selling.
*Ninty has the reputation for excellent games. But saying that... where was this support for the N64???
If you're going to rank consoles in terms of success, you have to do it through the eyes of the CASUAL JOE BLOGGS who just likes eye candy.
Educated gamers know that the DC should never have died. We know that the N64 had some of the best games ever seen on it. But the public don't care about this...
sad, but true.
Sonic
Over here (England) we say pounds (£) not dollars ($). And the Cube will be £200, £100 less than the box at £300. This will make a huge difference on the people's choice, but I think the Cube's games are of much beter quality than the box's, except maybe graphics wise. Nintendo wil release many exclusive games like Mario, Resi Evil and Zelda, while the Xbox has very few exclusives, as many of the same games are also on the PS2. Only PC and 1 or 2 games will be Xbox exclusives, and the only real reason to go for the box would be for the best graphics. The PS2 is OK, but will be forgotte and left behind with the Cube's UK enterance.
