In this month's edition of OPS2 magazine there is an advert for Comet saying that you 'buy one get one get one free*' on selected games including Metal Gear Solid 2, Medal of Honour Frontline, Stuntman, TimeSplitters 2, Minority Report, Bmx XXX and many more.

But today as I wandered down to my local Comet store in Harlow they said they knew nothing about the deal and they told me to come back another day and to bring my magazine with the advert in it.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any other games included in this deal and if you have succeeded in getting a game free after paying for another in Comet. In the magazine in the small print at the bottom of the page it says the deal is valid from the 14th March 2003 to 11th April 2003 so it should have been on!

Please reply to my queries as I really want to know a I am planning on going back on Thursday!

Thankyou!

YOu can get MGS2 from my local Woolworths for £7.99, shop around, you could probably get the 2 games cheaper from play.com or gameplay.com, even Game have a 2 for £30 deal.

I know my local Comet in Bristol are doing it because my nephew got the same deal on some Gamecube games the other day. There is a bigger range than the 6 PS2 games listed in the advert, but they've done it so whatever you do you're paying at least £39.95 for 2 games which are either

a) very dated
b) about to go platinum anyway
c) naff
d) you've already got one of them
e) the sequel has just been released or will be shortly

Shop around a little more in the high street and you'll always discover at least one retailer doing a buy one get one free offer on brand new just released titles. And ALWAYS keep an eye on the games shelves in your local Tesco, it seems at least once a week they get the price wrong, which is how I got Big Mutha Truckers for £19.99 a couple of months back :).
